I love people who work at record stores. They really just don't care.

That's such a stereotypisation (not a real word, I bet)!

I work at a record store and I DO care.

But then I might be overzealous.

Yeah, I know. Gross generalization and stuff. The first part of my post actually wasn't facetious.

They're only one of my favourite Norwegian bands, but yeah, I don't think they're very well known outside Norway yet.

Singer/songwriter kind of music that's being described as a blend of cold folk / pop / rock, but it's mostly calm and melancholic music with a lot of acoustic guitar. I'm not sure which category fits them best though. (I always have a hard time ascribing genres to artists, unless when it's totally obvious.)

You can listen to samples on their website: http://www.minormajority.no/ (shameless plug)

Cold folk...

Don't ask me what cold folk is, I read it in a description of their music on a UK website. I thought it had to be a common phrase in English. Oh well.

Annnd I got to hear the new CD today. It's not for sale before Monday. Yep, record store job ROCKS! 8)

The term seems very descriptive to me. Not that I'd know to explain what it means, but I can imagine what music it's reffering to.

Cold folk makes me think of eskimoes.

Nope, never heard of it here in the states. Maybe someone else around here has. Anyone? Anyone? ...Bueller?
