NEVER put apostrophes, quotes, superscripts, etc into author names, likewise never try to put more than one author in the author email field or you will destroy it.

There is enough problems with foreign names.
I'm sorry, I should've clarified this a little bit more. The Comic name when we log in is also what's ...screwed up. Our comic name is What You Don't See, and when we log in it shows What You Don't See. I apologize for the misunderstanding, it was my fault totally.

IT can't be put in the comic name either, the problem is that the Ampersand, quotes and slashes are special characters in html, so they break lots of things. If you used the ***comic_name*** tag in javascript, the javascript wouldn't work at all for example. The solution for this case is either change it to "What you do not see" or remove the apos with "What you dont see"

The "apos;" thing you're seeing is a bug with Internet Explorer. Believe it or not, the apostrophe works fine with every other browser I've seen EXCEPT IE. My own comic is I'm Always Right and I used to have that problem too, so I just typed in the comic name rather than letting CG do it. Fixed the problem up right away.

Also I'm still getting the Author error on the website. I have never touched nor changed in any fashion my comic's author. I'm using the Keentag ***author*** for my webpages, unless that no longer works. I've never been on keenspace, only comic genesis so this has nothing to do with the switch.

I hear an easy way to fix this is by removing that tag and typing <h2>by ***insertyourname***<h2>

I did it myself. I've to wait a little while to see the results, but no matter. Those moderators know what they're doing.

I think you might've misunderstood me; the *insertyournamehere* isn't a tag (the misconception would be my fault for using asteriskes, really). See Black Sparrow's post for clarification.

If this is already clear to you, then just ignore me and carry on.

SORTED!

Just to re-iterate and simplify things a little the way to fix this problem is...

Open up your ftp program and connect to your comicgenesis folder.
Download the 'dailytemplate' and 'indextemplate' files from your workspace folder.
Open up the files in a text editor (i.e. notepad, MSWord etc.) and change the line in the html that says <h2>***By Author Name***<h2> to <h2>By 'whatever your name is'<h2>
Delete the old templates from your workspace folder and then upload the edited 1.
As soon as the update kicks in then your name will displayed once again.

I've only ever used html since I came to CG so if I can fix it then anyone can. I think you probably only need to update the 'indextemplate' file for it to work but I updated both just to be safe.

Oh and finally thanks to everyone in this thread who posted how to change the tag and the html code as well for helping me to fix my page, I really appreciate it! Setting things up on CG might be a bit innaccessable to n00bs like me but it's good to see the community here isn't. :)

Okay I'm blaming this on Kelly, since he's the one who's been editing autokeen.

PROBLEM IS FIXED.
