Author Unknown or Missing(1)

I've always had a 0 next to author status in the old login, that I've been unable to change, but I figured that wasn't a problem, as my name still showed up on the site, if not on my profile page in the keen directory. Now I get Author Unknown or Missing(1) instead. There's also a Banner Type: 0, which I think is why my banner is also not displayed in the directory

Is there an easy way to fix this? Also, I'm not the only author, but I've been unable to add my co-author/artist. I get this "This page requires authentication, please goto the Login page." everytime I try.

My username is jaadrih.

As far as I know, you can't add authors. If there is no author at all, contact an admin. If it's not showing your name on the site, you can edit the html to show your name instead of using the relevant ***tag***.

There's still an author if I login on the old site admin. It won't let me log in on the new one at all. It did the first time, when I logged in from the forum and all, but now, everytime I leave the forum, or open a page other than the forum, I get booted from the forum.

I'm having this prob as well but it's only on the last 2 comics on the account, the rest are all fine. I'm fairly clueless with html so I dunno how to edit it manually to have my name and I can't find the section on the site admin anymore where I add the authors name. Please help, I know I'm not missing cos I'm right here!

yep. Can't log into the old site admin. Keeps telling me the site needs authentication and sends me back to the login page. I can log into the ftp site fine though. And the new site. My comic title is messed up (the apostrophe apparently doesn't want to work - it generated a bunch of other letters in between) and my name is gone with the message (author unknown or missing (1)). http://crowsscrapbook.comicgenesis.com

This error has no bearing on keenspace/comicgenesis operation except if you request a new password, as this indicates that your email is missing

If you use the new siteadmin, it doesn't use this table for anything, so it's irrelevant.

Um, I see my email address in the Authors Edit/View page under http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com:8080/ ... s/main.cgi just fine, but Autokeen prints out Author Unknown or Missing(1) on the two latest pages of my comic anyway.

Hi!, same problem here, my comic is new all the templates are comicgenesis, my ...comicgen.com dir is the only diferent.

I never ask for a new password by the way.

We're having the same problem, complete with the issue with apostrophies. The author's name should be Angel Phantom.

NEVER put apostrophes, quotes, superscripts, etc into author names, likewise never try to put more than one author in the author email field or you will destroy it.

There is enough problems with foreign names.

I'm also getting the "author unknown " problem... in addition, I can't log on to my site parameters...
I CAN log on to the Logs... (Which is another screwy issue but that's not a big problem) I can log into the forum as well...
ANYWAY, I couldn't request a manual update but filezilla was able to log on and send the strip which had to update at the next update time. I can't see this is not a comic genesis glitch.

BTW... I'm using the ***author*** option

Ah! OK I used the "Blue" siteadmin logon as described in the announcements and got in.. the Red just fusses at me.... My author data is correct and the e-mail site is valid. One problem solved...(I hope). Now If I can just manage to be the author again.

I'm having this problem too. I can't login and my name isn't on my webcomic.

I didn't do anything with my name at all.

I've been on keenspace for quite a while since last October and I have never had this problem.

Please check out the problem again.

Okay, I finally got logged in through the blue site admin which the forum posted about.

The author's edit/ view has my name on it, but when I go to my website I still get the author unknown. Then I noticed the Edit/url had changed to comicgenesis even though I stayed on Keenspace. I checked both the Keenspace url and Comicgenesis url and my author name is still missing.

I'm not to sure what's wrong.

Update: Sorry I really should read the forum headings more often. I didn't know the official web name switch finally came. I'm going to try and change all of my templates at home to see if I can fix the problem.
