letters
I remember the reaction from the gargum incident. not what he'd expected then either.
then again, having these letters come in may very well help him to remember Rillcreek's advice to him to make sure his side of the story is the first in print.
I seriously doubt that his 'correction' letters are gonna do much good though.

Based on my writing class, if Quentyn's world is anything like ours, getting newspapers to print retractions is nearly impossible, and proving defamantion is even tougher, especially if you are a lesser known person. I was trying to figure what the letter said that Squidge was reading, but then I decided it was probably best I did not. Unforutnatly, I think these scrips arte going to continue with the terrrible stories, pretty secure in the knowledge that no one is going to prove them wrong or even try to. And if they do try to disprove what happened, no one would believe them (such as the FandO)

That's not the word, it's Squidge trying to sound a word out. Look real carefully. He's trying to say Nigeria. You ever gotten one of those bits of Spam that say "I'm a Princess of Nigeria," blah blah blah? That's what that is.

You know, its events like these that make me wonder if bullies and especially Rahan in this particular case, ever grow up or just content to pick and redicule people for the rest of their lives, never devloping any real PERSONAL value.

Heh heh heh, looks like he has a lot of new "fans" Oh well, at least he has some new lights for the pad.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

[...unWARP!]
Good evening.
It surprises me that "serious" newsscrips are behaving like tabloids. Isn't this like the Boston Globe or the NYC Times printing "Elvis has cloned himself 100 times and is living under the ice in Antartica"?
Nigeria exists on this planet?
I'm also surprised that Ralph did the "neon" signs in Roman, not Rac Conan to give us another deciphering excercise, he he he...
Can Quentyn sue Rahan for defacing private property?
?Zacatep?ngolas!
Until next time, remember:

Good evening.

Letters
'The only bad publicity is no publicity' It might not be exactly what he wanted, but he is better off with that than being ignored.
I imagine sanctuary tends to be a bit news starved. After all, how many big events happen in such a small area? I can easily see his story being poked and prodded for weeks.
Plus side: He's famous. Everyone knows there is a questor around and the lucky son actually helped a few folks before this latest wild escapade, a fact that should not be in dispute. Somewhere, somebody, for some reason will want to hire him, and now they'll at least know he is out there.
Down side: He's going to be talked about mostly in the gossip column and made a figure of ridicule for quite a while.

Speaking of which, did anyone ever post the translation of Rosad's Motto/Epitaph? I don't remember seeing it on the forums when that comic origionally aired, and I don't have the time to translate it myself. I can eather wait to this weekend, and spend several hours (Days?) checking and re-checking the translation (Dear lord, it's like a run-on sentence, only I don't even know which letter to start reading from!), or I can check in here now, and hope someone has already suffered through this on their own, and is willing to share. The JAM wrote: I'm also surprised that Ralph did the "neon" signs in Roman, not Rac Conan to give us another deciphering excercise, he he he...
{Edit}Pardon the spelling. I'm tired, and I have work tonight.
Oh, surely not. True, they wait until everybody's forgotten what the original accusation was about and then print them in tiny print in the middle of an inside left-hand page...but they do print them.Madmoonie wrote:...getting newspapers to print retractions is nearly impossible...

not sure where, but I know Rosad's epitaph was translated on the forums.
start with one of the "R"s
it is a palindrome sentence with the "R" you start with also counting for the "R" you end with, clever. unfortunately though there is no punctuation or spaces to tell you where one word begins and another ends so you'll either have to find that or solve it yourself.
sorry...

I think it's more that it's a gag on those "real" establishments here. The Cursive Neon signs advertising debaucery and 25 cent wings to keep you stuffing dollar bills down some girls panties for as long as possible. The JAM wrote:

And I don't think Quentyn could sue as it's not a permanant defacement like paint, more than likely a temporary spell of sorts.
Plus he said that he's spent a "fortune" in paying the "post office" sending out letters to the news scripts.
But atleast he has a life time supply of kindling for fires.

One of the threads that translated it is at http://forums.comicgenesis.com/viewtopic.php?t=63570, and it translates to "Reviled Did I Live Said I As Evil I Did Deliver"Starcat5 wrote: Speaking of which, did anyone ever post the translation of Rosad's Motto/Epitaph? P.S. According to the counter, I now know something you don't!

Why Nigeria? Why is it always Nigeria?
Both a heart and a brain are necessary for survival. Without one, the other will quickly perish.

"I can say—not as a patriotic bromide, but with full knowledge of the necessary metaphysical, epistemological, ethical, political and aesthetic roots—that the United States of America is the greatest, the noblest and, in its original founding principles, the only moral country in the history of the world." - Ayn Rand
