A Thoughtful Favor...

Post by Alschroeder »

Um....

All of the sudden, I'm having problem with my scanner software. I've tried reinstalling it twice. No go.

I'm not sure how long this is going to last. My update tomorrow will only have two of the four images. I have a fear this might be a bad one to overcome.....

This would be a great time for anyone who had an urge to do guest art., though, or anyone who needs a link from a fairly popular comic, for the guest art....

If I can't fix the software, I guess the next step is tring to find someone else to do the art. Hopefully it won't come to that....besides, I know good artists are much rarer than good writers.

Anyway---if anyone who would like to help out Mindmistress, I would be very grateful.

Sorry if I sound a little braindead. It's been a frustrating day.----Al

I can do something, but it'll have to wait for morning (being 2 AM here.) You'll have something in your inbox by the afternoon.

Oh Damn, Al. I'd love to do something for you, but I don't know if I'll be able to get to my scanner before 8 AM. My own comic's not updating today either... Raaagh. I'll try to get something to you.

Oh, hey, all I meant was over the next week. No super big hurry. Someone's already sent me something for Monday. And yes, I tried downloading alternative scanning software---actually I have TWO scanners, and the install programs for both---but it may be a deeper problem in my Windows. The install programs aren't going all the way. I may have to reinstall Windows, and that's going to be fun...not.

So, have fun with it, if you do do something for me. If you want to draw my character meeting yours, that's fine---certainly my character is good at crossovers. And of course, regardless, you'll be featured on the main page and get a spot in my guest art page, and of course, a link.---Al

Why would your next step be to get a new artist, instead of a new (or cheap used) scanner?

Depends if the problem's with my Windows system and not with the installation. We'll see.---Al

Do a virus check. There are a lot of nasty bugs out there right now, messing around with Windows systems in every possible way.

Sorry it took longer than I said; I slept until noon by accident and then you said it wasn't a hurry. Check your E-mail.

Don't places like Office Supply shops allow customers to scan things for a small fee?

Do you have a friend who has a scanner? Or access to a computer lab somewhere? (College, work, library, whatever.) There must be something available.

If I were you, I would get a floppy disk and just scan your artwork elsewhere.

I had the same problem with my scanner before. It just stopped working, said something about the TWAIN drivers. Unfortunately, I could never get it working again, so I can't help you...
