...that Ben said it was what appeared to be an armed guard? Looks a lot more like Ben's cleric to me (who will be using one of his heal spells to *ahem* fix his plumbing).
I just get this image of Lily's Drow character standing behind them and going, "You had better have a good reason for attacking my husband."
Then we go back to these familiar expressions:
Oooooh, yeah... this is gonna be interesting.
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.
Close. Lucy is...was, Gordon Retriever. Maggie's an English Springer Spaniel. They're both based on my family's dogs.
Or they were at anyrate. Lucy died early September. Just shy of her 14th birthday, a while after I commissioned the arc, but before it was put up. That was a blow.
Maggie's still around though. She's only about 2 and about as scatterbrained as the comic character would have you believe.
There is something to be said for competent silence.
It was not--is not--a pleasant feeling, to loose something that had been a part of your life for the last two-thirds of it. I spent a lot of time dwelling. On the bad times, the good times (which don't seem numerous or memorable enough now), and making myself feel bad for every time I yelled or got angry at her for no good reason (and even for the times when I did).
If anyone has pets, treasure them now. Time has a way of getting away from you.

You have my sympathies, Mikhail. This is a problem - we outlive our nonhuman companions. The first time you lose one is the worst, but it's always a blow. I've outlived three dogs and two cats. (Childhood hamsters and such don't really count.) I'd like to say it gets easier over time, but ... I'd be lying.
I know. I had a cat who died when I was in grade school, not long before we got Lucy.
Bart Simpson once said "No kid wants to outlive their pet." It sounds a whole lot more profound now than it did when I first heard it. It would be better if cats and dogs had the same lifespan as humans, but if if and buts were candied nuts then everyone would be fat.

Could try parrots or tortises I suppose. *sigh* I simpathize with you.
The only pet I ever had was a dog I highly itentified with. He was just a mutt and people always had a hard time trying to identify what he was.A yellow lab/pit bull mix he was always mistaken for a pit bull dog (along with all the negative connotations of the breed).
A very young dog, he had a bad habit of jumping on people.
I forgot to put him in the kennel one day and he jumped on and minorly injured a childhood friend of mine. The court ordered him put down a month later. If he was a cute fluffly Golden Retriever would his life have been longer? A moot point.
It's pretty hard losing a pet, no matter what age it is. You have my sympathy and condolances. *hug*
How well I know the feeling my friend. I've outlived two cherished cats and even though it's been a couple of years, the "hole" in my life is still there.
Deepest condolences....*hugs*
