And it's not lighthearted or happy-go-lucky, either. I didn't grow up on "Rainbow Brite" and "My Little Pony", I grew up on H.P. Lovecraft and Creepy and Eerie comics and Edgar Alan Poe. Go figure.
Wikkinz is a dark fantasy: it's not the sunny side of the street, it's shadowy alleyways; that sparkle isn't fairy dust, it's the glint of a street light off of shattered glass on cracked sidewalks. It's new to comicgenesis but has been running a while (I'm an emigre from DrunkDuck) so there's a fair number of archived pages. It's an ongoing graphic novel that will have a definite end, someday in the future.
All I ask, if you want to check it out, is to start from page one; even just the current page today will give away too much if you care to follow the story. And although the early art is rougher (as with many comics) the first few pages ought to tell you whether you'd like to check out the rest.
the direct link to the beginning is
right here
and I would appreciate you starting there.
meanwhile, here's a sample from about midway of what's up so far.
Thanks a lot folks. If you like a dark, fantasy-mystery, try it out. You just might like this one.
