Doubtless he would act the same way. That boy is as skittish as a stallion around gelding tools.

YEOWCH! *WHIMPER* That's a rather frightening though there Andrick, and here I thought this was the season for annoyingly happy and perky people. *Slowly backs away from Andrick before he gets any crazy ideas.*Andrick wrote:Doubtless he would act the same way. Speaking of perky, Lain seems VERY forthcomming; I wonder if the whole event was equally tiring for everyone or some more then others. I would consdider her on the verge of being PAINFULY perky, this is sort of balanced by my impulse to Andrick's comment. Though both may be fairly equaly painful in their own realms I will stick to the headache, at the very least I know how to deal with having frequent migrains.
Micro_fur - I think of chainsaws when I hear artificialy perky people.

*the ringwolf shoots the pine martin an inquisitive look and wonders what he's on about* You mean "Alice," don't you? Alice Gauss is the skunk femme with the 3LED brow. >.< Great. Now I've got the words "I dream of Alice with a 3 LED brow" stuck in my head to that tune.
Seriously, that Lee boy needs to learn how to chill.

Character dyslexia strikes again!
Correct once more boss, I think Allan is going to kill me one of these days for getting his characters mixed up! But don't worry boss, at least you didn't have a technoish euro-pop song stuck in your head for three months. Does Alice have light brown hair? She is after all a skunk-mouse hybrid. Pierce's dilema has a simple solution; liquid nitrogen. >:)

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys my particular (and wrong) interpretation of today's comic.
Pierce discovered that it was a wet dream for him. ^^

To be fair to Pierce, Alice was practically wrapped around him when he woke up. It was a pretty alarmingly intimate position to wake up in, especially with someone like ALICE.
I think perhaps Pierce is starting off even further down the scale of "easily freaked" than I originally intended, but I definitely want to paint him as needing a chill pill or two at the start of this comic.
If I do my job right, he will slowly and believably transition to being much more confident and capable of dealing with surprizing circumstances. For now, though, SQUEAL, PIGGY, SQUEAL!!!
The funny thing is, Pierce is the closest any character in anything I've actually published has come to being based on me.

Also, we've as yet only occasionally seen Pierce in situations where he's not unusually stressed.allan_ecker wrote: I think perhaps Pierce is starting off even further down the scale of "easily freaked" than I originally intended, but I definitely want to paint him as needing a chill pill or two at the start of this comic.
It's not that I'm apathetic, it's that I'm ..... um .... OK, it's that I'm apathetic.
One would think that growing up with parents such as Volair and Saundra, and neighbours like Rick and Jakes, Pierce would have built up a pretty high resistance level to freakish occurences!allan_ecker wrote:I think perhaps Pierce is starting off even further down the scale of "easily freaked" than I originally intended, but I definitely want to paint him as needing a chill pill or two at the start of this comic.
On the other hand, those factors might be the very reason why he is so skittish...

Yeah, Saundra had to work at it to build up an immunity to weird.Sylvain wrote:One would think that growing up with parents such as Volair and Saundra, and neighbours like Rick and Jakes, Pierce would have built up a pretty high resistance level to freakish occurences!allan_ecker wrote:I think perhaps Pierce is starting off even further down the scale of "easily freaked" than I originally intended, but I definitely want to paint him as needing a chill pill or two at the start of this comic.

To be fair to Alice, Pierce is being awfully judgmental. I mean, where does Pierce get off thinking Alice is so bad when he just met her minutes ago?allan_ecker wrote:To be fair to Pierce, Alice was practically wrapped around him when he woke up. I thought that was more referring to the fact that Alice is exteremely attractive, and apparently is willing to put modesty on hold. Especially the way she seems to be teasing Pierce. Kind of like her mother in that way, it seems. Or maybe Pierce still thinks this is a testosterone induced fantasy and refuses to give in?Andrick wrote:To be fair to Alice, Pierce is being awfully judgmental. So I'm going to make the large assumption that Pierce is still a virgin. As such, from my first soon to be serious relationship, I was just as jittery if not worse, so the feasibilty of him being in denial to protect what little self worth he has of himself is entirely possible. Conversely, I am surprised that with that level of confrontation would not have lead to Pierce's own insticts if not horomonal drive to take over. Then again I was betrayed once by a similar situation that er. . . um. . . lead to some interesting social implications. *Looks away embarassed* I swear the pictures were staged!The_Fox wrote:I thought that was more referring to the fact that Alice is exteremely attractive, and apparently is willing to put modesty on hold. Micro_fur - Hindsight is always 20/20, but looking back things are still a bit fuzzy. . .

I'm trying not to reply -too- much in the discussions on the strip, as I think this may have been one of the contributing factors to discussions on my previous comics never really "taking off", but I feel like I can get away with explaining a little here.
(Andrick and other more law-aligned forumites may feel free to thwack me should I start going overboard on the in-forum exposition.)
When I say "someone like ALICE" I mean that she has shown a proclivity towards causing trouble, and Pierce is pretty wary of her since she just outed him through inferrance. He hasn't gone so far as to make any moral judgements at all, but he has definitely put her in his personal "trouble makers" column, and he wakes up with her all snuggled up against him like that and despite (or perhaps because of) his overactive libido, he is one freaked pandafox.
As for virgins, the whole bloody lot of the new cast fit in that category.
Yes, even Alice.
Really.
