Colouring help, TAKE TWO!

Post by BOMC »

Here is another drawing I've coloured, trying to incorporate the suggestions from my last help thread.

That looks fantastic.

If I were going to make any suggestion, I'd say the hair needs some line shadows in it so it doesn't look so much like a helmet. Everything else looks great.

That looks great. And also unique, which is always good too.

Much MUCH better, but like Remus suggests, the hair could use shadows that are a little more complex for a more natural look.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

TOTALLY ROCKING improvment, B. So quick, you're scary! XD Just a few notes from me though:

- if you increase the number of shading layers for the hair, you can achieve that 'complex' look that it needs. Make another one on top of it, set to multiple, use a lighter color than the previous color, and you're set.

- highlight on leg is a bit funky. Maybe you can try to play with it with the Smudge tool? Make the edge less circular and stuff

Other than that, kudos yo.

Like everyone says, you've made great strides. The only thing I would comment on is the lack of texture in the hair, as others have mentioned, and also the mixing of shading styles. Some shadows/highlights are blurred and some are cell shaded (hard edged), which makes for an odd mix.
