Thanks. That's just about the end of my marathon of TotQ reading and I was getting muzzled headed, so it didn't stick.

Uh-uh. The Royals may be scattered, but if any of the boss's lieutenants decides to holler for them to come back, all hell will break loose. Remember the Royals know the terrain better, and might travel about two or three times as fast as Quentyn would, so by the time Q manages to grab WC, rid himself of any guards and manages to find an escape route, the Royals would be well underway and may already be arriving. Mucha mucha troublas.

Would landing a boot in the bucket of tappers really drain the lux out of it that fast, like sticking a torch in a bucket of water? It seems to me that even the whole bucket of them couldn't drain that much that quickly, and as long as he gets his foot out of them within a couple of seconds, the boot would still hold a fairly decent charge of lux.

With only one foot in the tappers, he ends up with one boot partially drained while the other is still has its charge - an unevenly charged pair of boots. That could be awkward to handle, maybe somewhat comparable to having one shoe on.

Does Quentyn ever worry about all the other possessions he lost when he was robbed? His parchment and quills, his fur brushes, his Questor Con T-shirts?
