Cotton realizes that he's really going to be in hot water, concerning his *extended* leave of absence. And such hot water isn't going to leave him dry, instead he'll get *scalded*, big time. Only a miracle now can bail him out, such as a little help from Tavatiana.<P>So he ought to take a little Beatle-advice:
"Get Back. Get Back. Get Back to where you once belonged."<P>We've missed you in your comic, Gene!

It won't be. I will cut my long-eared friend
a little slack, of course. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"><B> <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>

OK, I'm confused - was their whole encounter another timeline? Then what was the alternate timeline _within_ that encounter?
</B><HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Their encounter took place within a separate
time-stream, that allowed everything within
their presence in it to take place in what
would be only a split-second in normal time.
Tavatiana didn't actually change time itself,
just the manner in which individuals move in
different modes of time. What she did for
Cotton was to change the influence on time
that he had, from the moment he left Gene
until he realized how long he'd been gone.
