Nazi Raccoons Conquer Europe

Though, they have avoided France. I guess there is some garbage even they can't stand.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

I'm sorry for being a wet blanket, but I don't like articles like that very much. (Yeah, I know I'm overly sensative.) Anyway, don't mind me.

Oh please no, I hate the Nazis, there is the right way and the wrong way to get power, and they were wrong, evil, nasty thugs. And they were such tacky dressers.

The Nazis are hardly alone in this respect. Look at what happened to Australia after the Brits brought some of their wildlife to that continent in the 19th century.

Well, that's what you get when you follow a reject from an art academy.

No I think he is refering to the bunny outbreak. The place was over run with them.

I wonder if that is where Squeaky came from? :)

That's just one of the animals they introduced. There were also foxes, pigs, a species of frog, and a species of honeybee, all of which had disastrous consequences for some of the native plants and animals.

bear in mind that Aus was a very conatined ecosphere before they arrived so it was extremely vulnerable to that sort of stuff. (I loved reading a record of one person who said to the effect "this place is weird, the fauna here doesnt walk, canter or trot but BOUNCES! :o")

anyway, to add to that list (which contains stuff that isnt all england's fault, unless you want to blame it all on them for finding this little rock in the first place XD) personally i blame the genius who thought it would be a good idea to bring along 24 breeding pairs of rabbits and release them on his (unfenced) property so he could hunt them for sport :-?

believe it or not, cats are an extremely large problem too, when they get away from their cushy suburban lives and go feral, that is. Also, it isnt limited to animals. Weeds and similar plants find it really easy to take over vast tracks of land here due to a lack of competition and predators. Even animals like sheep and cows cause their own problems. Even just by walking they can damage the ground with their hard hooves, rendering it impossible for plants to grow in it. Cane toads are a problem too because they are poisonous to the fauna that tries to eat them.

Ahh poor ole oz, its a pretty fragile place, no wonder we're all paranoid about border security :P

You forgot American mink, imported for the fur trade. They're displacing the smaller European mink.

(Any eco-freak who starts ranting on the evils of the fur trade and especially "poor, little mink" will get a starving-mad mink stuffed down their shirt.)

You know, dingoes were imports, too.

Hmm, I wonder why there aren't any large marsupial carnivores in Australia anymore.

they are? ... they're listed as an indigenous species under our legislation. Oh, thats unless you're counting it being introduced before settlement? I think there was an argument that the domesticated (and wild) dingo traveled down from Indonesia and Asia with the Aborignies via now-submerged land bridges.

Havnt got a clue about that though. ^^;

here's some stuff on introduced species and plants though

Dude! They're all clustered together! One shotgun blast and you'd get like... A berserker, or killtacular at the very least! Grenade would be better, though, you'd get the outlying ones, too.

Why, yes, I did spend the day playing halo 2. That was seriously the first thing that came to mind seeing the raccoons...

As long as they stay away from my house, and don't peek at me in the shower or harass my cat, let 'em run wild, I don't care.

... There are at least 26 'coons in that picture...
