Seek and Ye shall find

Post by Sharuuk »

Well looky here, looky here.......And it looks like WC even has a small lux charge built up. Remember when he sliced the 3 Gragum, the blade was "drained almost black".....it seems to have just the slightest glow......but is it enough?

So....who's gonna find him now.....the leader? Our hero's gonna get caught in the act....it's just a question of who catches him......and whether or not WC can be of any use......other than a simple blade.

And on a personal note.....the parties like that I've been to.....at least the women weren't "mangey and ill-kempt".....a little on the scruffy side maybe....but not mangey.  Also, yes these parties can seem to be a pathetic wreck to a sober non-participant.......but when you're drunk and stoned.....they're a blast.. :D .....and....unlike that POS Bill Clinton.....I did inhale....deeply.....and damn well enjoyed it......and have NO shame in admitting it.

Even with a small charge, Wildcard can do some things. It might just be one of the stupid effects, but it just might be enough to throw them off guard, distract them or make them think something which can actually hurt them is going to happen. This might give Quent enough time to get a head start running, get into a good defensive posture or perhaps even slice through a few Royals, if he has the guts.

I have no doubt Quentyn has the guts to kill if he has no other choice.....but like most rational people, fur or otherwise, he has no desire to do so.......he won't back down, and if he is attacked and can't escape, will extract a very high price.

Regaugding the mangy comment, a few points:
1: This isn't a totalyl modern setting
2: This is currently in the slums
3: Full body fur is going to be a pain to keep tidy with 1 and 2

So, while you speak the truth of today, 'tis not truly applicable in this setting.

So, yay, mr.swordy is in sight, maybe this mess is approaching a close.

Point taken....although while statements of my past parties are totally true, I was saying that with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

Hrmm, 10 will get you 1 that the royals have at least some form of security on their stash ... it'd be pretty dumb for them not to.

Then again, they might be that dumb after all ... and then again they might not ... and then again they ... oooer my head hurts x.x

Hmm, I remember when the people I lived with had parties like this in college, I had the poor slobs convinced the place was spooked. I loved messing with their altered state minds.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

She was certainly darker when she got stolen. She's not anymore wrapped in mageproof silk. I doubt that the safe case is useful to keep this thing drained.

Hmm, I'd say those things around the stash look like either dream catchers, or some sort of lux charm.

They're called wards. http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20041205.html
I don't know how they help with security in this situation though.

Well, I just want to say that I'm proud of Quentyn for avoiding smoking any cannabis. Perhaps he did it more for strategic reasons since the Rac Conans might not have the same cultural taboos as us, but I'm still glad he kept away from it.

I think that it is worthwhile that Mr. Ralph is exploring issues like this. After reading his Nip and Tuck story arc about hemp, I know that he and I have differing opinions on the matter, but still that's okay. I have my reasons* for being against it, but I admit that this world can be quite a complicated place, and things are not always as cut-and-dry as I would like them to be.

* My opinion on the matter is highly influenced by my father, who is a drug-abuse counselor. He has worked in mental-prisons and hospitals taking care of patients whose brains have been turned into mush because of drugs. Also, I was raised in a pretty strict church. (You know how it is: people saying that Jesus drank Welch's grapejuice  ) But mostly, it's just my personality to be an abstrainer, in multiple senses of the word. (Heh. It's not a coincidence that my character Yuoo is a monk.)

Anyway, my point is that I'm not ashamed of the way I think, but I'm also not ashamed of the way Mr. Ralph thinks. There is much for me to learn, and I'm glad Mr. Ralph is helping with that.

Interesting. :) I always thought I'd never drink, especially since my dad had a problem with both smoking and drinking and it took a long battle to eventually quit both. He never drank in my lifetime, but told us about when he did and also used other drugs. As an ex-hppie/druggy he was very adamat (sp?) about -not- using any of it. It took him a long time to quit smoking, but he was glad when he finally did.
I always assumed I would be drawn to the abuse of drinking or smoking if I tried it. But now I enjoy drinkng occasionally. I wouldn't say I am for or agianst it... just take it in moderation. Anything done to excess is bad.
I have never been 'drunk' or had a hangover and I aviod it by only having a drink or two as a limit.

Interesting side note: Beer was invented by monks. Wine was discovered(?) by Noah after the great flood. (note the first person mentioned in the bible to be drunk) ;)

Come to think of it, Quentyn's made a lot of enemies. He's got the city guard and the Red Caps mad at him, and he'll soon have the Royals mad at him. After he gets his sword back, I think he should leave Sanctuary City for a while. :o

I'm sorry if I'm sounding self-righteous or anything. On Monday night, I started playing the video game Xenosaga at 9:00PM, and I finally tore myself away from it at 5:00AM the next morning! :o Hoo boy.
