To paraphrase "Barbarella":
Rhonda does not MAKE trouble.
Rhonda IS trouble.
Speaking of trouble, I'd better scan in friday's comic! Whoop!
(I have comics -written- out to, like, January, but they're only inked to November and currently there are ZERO scanned comics in the buffer! To work with me!)

I'd love to help you with your problem there Allan, but there's just one small, ensy wensy problem with the prototype machine I've built; everything that goes through mysteriously becomes temporaly inverted and covered in black gunk. I have a theory as to the inversion, but the black gunk? I am still just too damn confused.
Any HEX Box players out there? B/C I love RVB, so there ;P

If the quest for answers only leads to more questions, did you ask the right question to begin with?

Okay, nobody panic. I just pushed the buffer over the terminator into October, so we're safe for now. I decided against scanning the last page because I want to fiddle with the word baloons to make it work as a "standalone" comic better, since not everybody will have the previous comic fixed firmly in their head when they read each comic.
It's occurring to me that there are a lot of little details that will occasionally require a keen memory to pick together exactly what's going on; I've got a "forshadowing" comic whose payoff is a good month down the line, for example. The jokes I'm keeping on an "instant gratification" basis wherever possible; jokes are either fully nonsequitor, derive from "established" dynamics (ones I can document in at least three comics), or establish new ones. I may have to start some kind of wierd shorthand to document this, but it'll be worth it if the comic is enjoyable to a broader audience. Ideally, Umlaut House should appeal to anyone who likes mad science, adventure, and/or queer humor.
