J'ACCUSE!

Post by Steltek »

I have found a monumental mistake in this comic -- monumental in fanboy proportions, anyway. I was just re-reading the UTLT archive for the third time. As I was going through the Posse's early efforts to find our hero a date, I noticed that when Sheldon is placing an internet personal ad for Ben, he puts down Ben as a SWM seeking a SWF. The problem? Ben is not a polar bear.

Gee, You must be right. I mean no one would ever put down information in an internet personal that was not true would they?

Heh heh heh Single Wingle Male.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

I hope not -- if they do it raises a huge question mark about that "thin buxom Russian bride" I mail-ordered. :o

Well you know that thin is a relitive term.
Thin in Russia may be a bit larger than what we may call thin here.
I think they may call an offencive tackle for the Oakland Raiders thin.
I will not even go into Buxom..... 8)

Actually, I know some Russian women, and they all look very nice. I wouldn't order one over the Internet, though -- what with the divorce rate, it's closer to prostitution than marriage.

I would say that as RHJ is a "SWM" he put that down. At the time the comic hadn't had a color issue so his coloring is rather ambiguous at that point. I don't see how it's revelant unless it is refering to "Western" as if western America. I still haven't discovered how Ben knows Navajo.

"Perhaps it is time to troll through the archives again?"

SWM most likley reflects on the artist. Don't we all write descriptions of our characters based on ourselves without realizing it?
