I didn't have my paw *up*... keeping them on
the drawing board so that I can get more
comics done. (mech. pencil in one, eraser in
the other) And a comic story requires that a
revelation to a character be told in a manner
that makes it clear that things are happening
*to* that character. If I just had Cotton snap
his fingers and say "Oh, hey! Now I understand
everything!" the comic would be quite short.

Yes, Ernie did. But, territorially speaking,
their civilization was in the geographically
correct location. (Denevia could very well
have been incorporated into Canovia in the
present day, it being a former country.)

On the other paw, I didn't know that to be true since I'm a fairly imaginitive fur and I'm quite capable of coming up with other plausible locales. Actually, I did not guess the connection, but it makes perfect sense. Two plots running? Feels more like tying two plots that were running closer together into one, to me... explaining the connection between them. it's all part of telling the story. Coffee is
indeed generally linked with South American
countries, but in fact the discovery and use
of the plants which have the same properties
as coffee took place all over the world. (Both
ours and the one where Canovia is found.)

him in a rather unconventional manner (to say
the least) simple answers can be awfully
difficult to see sometimes. And the two plots
are actually separate halves of the whole.
But I gotta tell them separately so the readers

I hadn't given much thought to this before, but if coffee is native to South America, why do they call it cafe arabica? I think I remember some story about it being discovered by some arab sheep herder who's flock was behaving oddly after browsing on some shrubs...
