And Now You Know the Rest of the Story (6 August)
If I knew goofing off on the job could land me a opportunity like that, I'd stop being a by the book kinda guy.
There is something to be said for competent silence.

First panel on the bottom row has Miss Zelda looking quite lovely, actually. Nice facial features, and quill styling.

So....it would appear that Zelda alread worked at the station...and seemingly for some time....she may have been on the production staff or even possibly the broadcast engineering dept. Whatever, she seemed comfortable behind the mic, even though it was all make-believe and she knew the mic wasn't "live".
And ya gotta admit....turning your boss....I'm guessing the deer (do we know his name?) is either the programming director or the station manager....into a pin-cushion and getting a promotion isn't such a bad situation.

Now we can only hope that a good portion of Malarky Co. comes to support Zelda and reinforce how much they enjoyed her show......and whether she's "Belle" or Zelda doesn't matter.

We are NOT surrounded.....this is a "target rich" environment!

It seems she can do the job well enough, which involves a lot more than sitting at a mic and talking...
So, I'd guess her boss would like to see her return to work. He's probably seen a few wanna-be DJ's who were less-than-optimal employees, and having found a "good one" is not eager to let her go.
If she can convince herself she's just playing a role, she should be able to get back into it. Someday with luck that role will no longer be just a role.

Avoid those who speak badly of the people, for such wish to rule over you.

Coincidentaly...
thats almost exectly how I got my first and only Broadcasting job. Station manager was chaperoning at my high school prom, and, being a junior and realtivly dateless for the dance, I MC'd the introducing of the couples. Let me tell ya, that certainly was a fun year or two at that station...

Hmm... to rephrase. I had not a date when I arrived, but I did have one before the night ended.RDB wrote:Is that like being a little bit pregnant???Drake-Dark wrote:being a junior and [relatively] dateless

Well I like my venison tenderized.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.
