Welcome to Silvergate

Post by Sharuuk »

At least it seems to be a bit later at night without a lot of people around and not mid-afternoon with high traffic.......and that's the BEST part of this whole day. :-?

While it's nice that Quentyn got away basically "intact".......I have to wonder how a fairly high-end gated community would literally have a hole in the wall "gateway" to the worst part of town with a manicured bordered grassy area in front of it.....and at the end of a well lit, clearly viewable causeway that goes straight to the front gate. Also, just from what could be seen from both this strip and the previous one, there doesn't seem to be any debris on this side of the wall. Mostly all debris and rubble is on the other side.

Was a breakthrough impact landed from this side, or did someone attempt to dig their way thru from the other side?

My guess is that it's the latter. C'mon, think about it:

1. He came from the Tumbledowns.

2. Most of the rubble appears to be on the side he left.

3. It goes into a gated community that looks very wealthy.

My guess is that somebody was digging into there to try and steal something and Quentyn's just ruined their plans by using it as an escape route. He'll get the blame for the hole, but no doubt it'll be sealed up in no time.

:D Accidental heroism. Ain't it grand?
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

Oh, it's not necessarily a "wealthy" thing. Places like this are really for providing the residents a "small community atmosphere." A lot of "gated communities" are actually pretty cheap. The lower price tag can stem from fewer perks, including lower security. Even the cheaper ones are generally safer than outside for two reasons: 1.) The walls create an obvious territorial boundry, which outsiders avoid crossing. 2.) Insiders suffer from I-know-where-you-live syndrome. The places aren't entirely safe, of course, and gangs of the "local ruffians" variety (e.g., Rahan and co.) can form there, too. One common thread unites the cozy fenced-in apartment complexes and the posh walled-off housing projects. It is this that will cause Quentyn far, far more trouble than just being caught "streaking": He's trespassing. This place is posh enough to have a gatehouse. Local security is going to want to know which resident he's with. I think Quentyn's luck just ran out. The next couple of scenes will not be pretty.

definately not going to be pretty. I am torn between the side of me that wants to see it and the side that can't bear to watch.
I still say the doctor did it....

Ick, better get some threads and fast.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Well, he was obviously being assaulted and pursued when he came through the wall - why else would he be naked? If you're sneaking in to burglarize the place, you won't try to look conspicuous. The local rent-a-cops might give him a hard time, but I'd hope the real ones don't. Besides, his white forelock's visible again. Someone might recognize him, which would be horribly embarassing but at least back up his story.

They might think that its some sort of dare or a prank, typical of the "hoodlums" in the downs.

Either way he'll probably get tresspass and indecent exposure added to his criminal record today :P

Hmmm... How could he get out of this...?

Use the glimmer rope to tie himself up so he looks completely helpless, and lie on the ground making as much noise as he can... Hoping the first person finding him will believe he's been robbed, stripped, tied up, and pushed through that hole in the wall while the bandits made off with his belongings...?

Well... It MIGHT work.
