Goodbye Scotty

Post by Sharuuk »

On a sadder note, James Doohan "Scotty" died yesterday morning at 0530 of pneumonia and complications of Alzheimers.

I know some of you don't care for Star Trek, but I met Jimmy on several occasions, and I was thrilled that he remembered me, by name from the previous conventions we met at. He was a genuinely likeable and approachable person who adored his fans and realized that it was they who made him a household name.

Of all the actors on the cast, he was probably the most popular both in character and in person.

He will be missed.

Time to depart Mr. Scott........Energize.......

Yeah, Scotty was my fav of all the Star Trek characters. Rest in peace Jimmy.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Believe it or not, he inspired me to become an engineer. He will be missed.

Just read that James' ashes will be shot into space. Very fitting.

Nay Madmoonie. A proper send off for Mr. Doohan is not quite. (Arranges for an Honor Guard of skilled bagpipers in kilts. ) Amazing Grace lads, and make sure Scotty can hear you up at the Pearly Gates.
