Oh Deer

Post by Labrusca »

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to be a first - a character with antlers. Up to now, the closest thing to it I can think of in N&T is Thunder, the bull, who has horns.

No, one appeared prior to this. I think he was a deer too, the first person to congratulate Tuck on going out with Thelma.
There is something to be said for competent silence.

Whipped out my handy copy of "Nip and Tuck Book 1: The Bare Essentials" and sure enough there it is. RH even said himself it was the first antlered character in the strip.

That leaves goats, antelope and such still to appear, at least.

A walking hat rack? Damn, I bet that makes it hard to sleep at night.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

And even harder to get through the door or into your car. His car must have a very interesting roof line.

I thought anthropomorphic furries were supposed to do things human style. RHJr. wrote it up in his LJ somewhere in the mists of time.

last i heard...

anthropomorphism by definition is anything that is not human displaying humanlike characteristics, this can be dragged as far as saying that this piece of dirt (you'll have to visualize your own piece of dirt) because it exists and humans exist also, is therefore displaying a human trait and therefore is anthropomorohic.

you could try for the other extreem but i don't have a good example of such at the moment so you'll have to imagine one on of those on your own too.

as for me a deer would be most likely to me to drive a VW bug, as there is far more head and upper body room for the height of the passenger/driver then there is for leg room.
I still say the doctor did it....

Maybe he just drives like my brother. :P Leans the seat back like he's in a recliner in the livingroom. If he weren't driving, he'd probably fall asleep. Then he'd be in trouble.
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

hmmmm... falling asleep while staring at the headlights of oncoming traffic at the same time.

they shouldn't be allowed to drive at that rate, unless you are allowed to eat what's left of them afterwords.

roadkill anyone?

Gah. Just realized what was bothering me about that pic. I think we've found out which world the folks who paint the 'Deer Crossing' signs are from. His antlers are on backwards!

Maybe he just used the wrong "antler conditioner" in the morning? :D

Actually they are just fakes. He suffers from premature antler loss, and went to the antler club for men.

The darned antlers are NOT on backwards!

Mind, in some species of deer and elk(primarily elk), the antlers sweep backward. But this fellow's a whitetail buck... the antlers sweep FORWARD, in a crown.

Lord above, I've spent the last decade or so living in whitetail country. I've seen more live deer, dead deer, deerskins, deer steaks, deer antlers, and mounted deer heads wearing sunglasses and John Deere caps than some of you people have seen COWS.

Give me SOME credit!
