I can't wait for the next one! I really want to know what's gonna happen. Harry Potter is definatly not the best thing I've ever read but it's interesting and I read the other 5 so why not?

Well... these books have to last a year, you know.christwriter wrote: What I don't like is that Rowling published the last two books as obese monsters. A LOT of those books could and should have gotten chopped. A lot of the parts were good, but there were too freaking many of them. Goblet was fat but it DID have a lot going on, so maybe only fifty to a hundred pages less. Phoenix was obese and probably diabedic as well, because NOTHING HAPPENED until the last fifty pages. You've got a SEVEN HUNDRED PAGE NOVEL. The only interesting part should NOT be the last fifty pages. A two hundred-three hundred page novel? Sure. Seven hundred pages? Every one of those pages should sizzle.
I'm a fast reader. I can read a seven hundred page novel in a day-two days, depending on when I get started. It took me a week to read Phoenix. That's bad. I can't understand how it got published so big, either, because an editor should have caught it, sent it back and told her to remove another hundred pages before they started publication. So either she's turned into a snot-head writer with too many pretentions, or the novel was so big to begin with that seven hundred pages where nothing happens until the last fifty seems sane.
Since this book is all we're going to get of the potter till our next dose is made availiable in 2006, I say the thicker the better.
If a two chapter narrative of Ron gracefully doing up his shoelaces means that it'll take me a year to finish the book that would be awesome.

It's not Harry OR Voldemort. She's already said this. Plus, the former would make the book 'Harry Potter and the Harry Potter', which is just silly.ManyWorlds wrote:It'll either be Harry, Voldemort, an entirely new character... or some secondary character from the arse-end of nowhere that hasn't been mentioned for at least a book.
Hagrid is half blood. *shrug*

That just struck us as very funny, we're not quite sure why...
Also... we've deicded that the HBP is Hagrid. Because Hagrid is cool.
Also, also... the movies suck.
(Also, also, also... anyone who knows of any good Remus/Sirius fics... feel free to send 'em our way. :p)

I really liked the third movie. I'm not sure why, it leaves out crucial details and doesn't work without having read the book . . . I was just impressed that the director cut so much stuff out.
I think I had especially low expectations for that one, since the entire plot is revealed in a massive expository monologue. It's my favorite part of the book, but in movie form? Ehhh . . . wouldn't work.
I'll probably buy the next book, because I'd have to wait through several months worth of holds at a local library, and if I'm going to throw away my hard earned money on something, it might as well be books.
If Harry manages to express an emotion other than deadpan or rage in the coming book, I'll be satisfied.

I'm looking forward to the next book.
I don't really expect too much from these stories though- nothing profound or anything. They're just fun, interesting reads that take me away from my everyday annoyances.
On a slightly unrelated note, I think The Da Vinci Code is one of the most overrated things I've ever read- it was ridiculous, had poor character development, and was (for me) predictable.

I'm betting the half-blood prince is Neville Longbottom. He was originally tossed into the mix as a bit of comic relief, but in books four and five he's been creeping quite a bit into the back story. We still don't know much about his parents (and no spoilers you guys for readers who don't know about them!). It's quite possible one of them is a muggle.
The only other notable half-blood I can think of is Seamus Finnegan. I wouldn't rule out a new character either, but Neville is the obvious "unexpected" choice. Who would have guess that the little klutz was a prince?

And here I thought this was about Prince of Persia 3....but I can't help that. I finally rented and beat the 2nd and now can't wait until the release of the third.
...I know I'm in the minority here, but I am not very impressed with HP. At all. Even with the movies. I mean, they're all right, but I isn't the target audience like....13-year-olds?
