Aaachoo

Post by Telecoda »

Aaachoo - a laugh and a sneeze are both an involuntary reflex based on an external stimuli.

Aaachoo is a collection of single panel "gag" cartoons.

I've trawled my harddrive for cartoons I have drawn over the past 10 year on and off.

I have given each one a quick once over for consistent look for the site.

I already have a decent buffer. My recent stuff should start kicking in around August / September.

After my toe in the water of webcomics with "Verbaliser" I realised I was happier doing the gag stuff.

Anyway what do you think? Some are pretty dated now and some are UK humour (humor) based.

I'm thinking of adding a panel of text to each page talking a little about each cartoon. My inspiration, what I think of it now etc. I got the idea reading "The prehistory of the far side"

The recent stuff will be more on par with the Verbaliser art work. Flash or photoshop based rather than MS paint.

Wow, I can't believe you have such large buffer, and your updating every day! However, I would say that if your newer stuff is better I would throw some of it into the early mix right now to give people some sort of impression of what it will be like in the future.

That being said I think some of the punchlines you have are sort of weak, they are funny in that yes, we can see the joke, but not laugh out loud funny. Of course that might just be me, I tend to laugh more when the joke involves people dying (or the possibility of, like this strip: http://aaachoo.keenspace.com/d/20050623.html).

I like the art style you have going now, is that really done on ms paint?

I draw all my comics on paper and scan them into the comp for colouring.

The earlier ones are coloured in MS Paint or a similar graphics package.

Good idea about mixing the old with the new.

I'd like to think my artwork and punchlines has improved over the years.
