HOOOLYYYY!!!!

I think today's comic answers the question what, or who is the problem.
"Heh, sometimes talking to yourself is the only way to get an intelligent conversation..."--Tbolt
"I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!"--Edgar Allen Poe
"I just had an argument with myself, so now we're not talking."--me
"We are the salt of the earth, not the powdered sugar."--R.H. Jr.

Sort of a "Oh My Goth!" thing.

Does it say something bad about me that I actually think the outfit wouldn't look half-bad if she'd ditch the low-riders and the thong?

...umm, you know what I mean. :p

Heh Heh, I can have her clean up her act, give me one day alone with her. She will be walking and straight and narrow.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

You mean you're going to show her how to put on makeup, wear feminine clothing, and act like a perfect lady?

Nah, I will drill millitary training into her. Waker her up early, some good PT, run the punk right out of her. Teach her respect and honor. Then someone else can do the girly stuff.

Then those rumors about that locked closet aren't true?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how Penny would naturally fit in at the arcade. She has the proper look for Goblin Hollow.

I just wonder what the posse will do and how she'll react to them?

On the other hand, the lass is starting to show some maturity.
She only thought those comments.
if she'd ditch the low-riders and the thong?
Wouldn't that result in the strip getting an 'R' rating, at the very least? :o
I lack close up experience with goths, but from what I've heard their little 'counter culture' is even more slavish to fads and style than most other teens. Basically shouting to the world "I'm unique! Just like everyone else is!"
Also, just a thought. Ralph can put anything in Goblin Hollow he wants, consistent with teh story line. Would a LAN room be totally out of place? Most of the games are fairly retro, which is fun for the kids. There's a place for grown ups to play and socialize. What about teens, though? Ben already has the permits and had to have had some significant rewiring done. Just a thought. :)

Heh. I'm not even sure if that internal monologue means she likes it or not. She's definitely surprised, though.

It's very true. I'm kind of on the fringe of it myself, with just my little toe in it for some of the style and the spookiness, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to really identify with it. I like to call myself a demi-goth. :D

There is just something fun about that word... :)
I'm taking it that you are intentionally playing off of "Hemi-demi-semiquaver"

My younger sisters and I used to run around the house chanting "hemi-demi-semi-quaver" and put it into sentences whenever we could... It is just one of those fun words to say! :D

The first time I ever heard the term "semi-quaver" was in the "conversation" scene at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. To the best of my knowledge, it's a musical term, however, never having studied music formally I don't quite know what it means.
