How long a wait to get on Keenspace?

Took me two weeks.
Took another two weeks to fix my password so I could actually log in.

So I'm waiting for my account (staring at the clock, humming a balero out of beat), and it occured to me, why does it take that long? I understand that the DNS needs to propegate and then clear, but I don't know what that is exactly.

Could anyone more internetionallistically inclined than me explain what the server is doing there? :wink:
