Funny Money

Post by SolidusRaccoon »

I have some of that. The Canadians are really nice people. They were really impressed with my magic fire maker (Lighter) and talking spirit box (Radio)
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Uhm... what???

I see a lot of Canadian money around here. The stores generally won't take it, since the exchange rate complicates pricing. Don't even ASK about Mexican Pesos... You can take it to a bank and exchange it there, if needed. They're a friendly bunch indeed, in that they'll often accept US money without all of that silliness. I hope we never get as crazy as the European Union and try to combine our currencies.

If I was visiting a foreign country, and saw a display of US products in a store, I'd likely do as those two kids did. A little touch of home feels good when you're away.

Hey, I don't mind my country getting a few laughs aimed at it.

...Lord knows Rick Mercer more then made up for it with his "Talking to American" specials..

Good evening.

Apparently, whatever city the store is in, it's not a major tourist center. Since I live near the Mexican Caribbean, we get a lot of tourists down here, so there are exchange houses all over the place.

What I find annoying are the Canadians that insist that Canada is closer to Europe than the USA in culture.

Like hell it is, most live within 100 miles of the US border and most of the time they don't even have an identifiable accent!

Hell, 90% of our pop culture comes from the US... I dunno what Canadians say Canada's closer to Europe, but those folks are in denial...

I LIKE Lorne Greene and Alex Trebek.

I even like Shatner in some forms but he MUST be killed before he sings again!

He was a DICK at the Star Trek Convention I went too also.

People, people... let's be reasonable here...

If you're going to blame Canada for anything, at least be fair.. Make it Celine Dion and Tom Greene..

I'm pretty sure Rick Moranis is Canadian, as are John Candy and Colin Mochrie. There's no shortage of Canadian popular musicians either: Rush, The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Anne Murray, Barenaked Ladies, Jim Stafford, Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain...

Good evening.

And of course, Michael J. Fox.

Canada is also home to Nelvana Ltd., who produced one of my favorite cartoons "Ewoks"!!
