About the Log thingy...

Post by Davidleetoon »

Ok, I'm looking at the logs for my site and it says I have had 250 Visits. But what I'm wondering is out of those 250 visits, how many different people are there? Because I know some of them are myself, and I know some people have visited it more than once. Is there any way I can figure out how many different people have experienced the joys of "Malcolm"?

A "visit" is as close as you can get to knowing the number of unique visitors. If someone sees your site, and comes back within a half hour or so, it still only counts as one visit. There's already a thread or two somewhere in the help forum about this, which probably explain it better than I do, though.

Actually in the logs is the "Total Unique User Agents" which should be close to what you're talking about...

Um, I don't think so. The "Total Unique User Agents" lists browsers used, webcrawling bots, etc., and number of "hits" for each, which is useless. Besides: It list 16 unique agents and unless I'm wrong, I don't link 16 people came 278 times.
