I think this forum suffers from an excess of incest. :)

Seconded. From what I saw of the 'Spot forum, he was definately the most likeable one around.
Dan's a great and encouraging guy.

I post there when I am bored.
I think it has a lot of artist vanity there. I mean, vanity is a common quality of artists. I witnessed it when I was paying more attention to Serbian comic scene - even such small scene got divided into clans pretty fast - because of excessive vanity.
Now, with Spot and Space forums I have a theory: reason why there is not much vanity on these forums is that, when vanity-ridden artist joins webcomics, he first joins Spot forum - Space forum is small beans for his ambicion and apetites. Well, a lot of people (specially occasional posters) post there in hope that they'll be noticed by someone important. Which is like looking for a job in a pub.
Of course, not to generalize, it's not always the case. I for one went over there to see what's happening elsewhere but here. Some go there in hope to meet people whose work they admite. Spotters post there because it's the most logical choice of a place to post. But there's a lot of people who seem to post there because they get an impression that they're because that makes them in some way equal to spotters. And 5% of such posters is enough to keep flamewars alive and atmosphere tensed. :(

I agree, Mcduffies. I hung around there for a while, but it was less welcoming and more... boring than this community.

Whenever I try to contemplate visiting the Spot forums, I'm struck with this wave of apathy that prevents me from browsing. No idea why. I'll just stick around here. :D

Now that you mention it, the apathy there does seem oddly tangible now doesn

have you ever considered that we're more friendly and welcoming, and that we're more intertaining because we don't have lives and this is the closest we'll ever get to one?

I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

HOLEY FUCKING SHIT

I cannot believe I'm hearing that phrase on a board with NOTHING to do with the activity.

PS, BD had them in 96.

The family that plays together stays together. :)
This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.

Not my favorite, but I'm glad they got out of that rut they've been in since '98. 2003 was phenomenal.

!!?? No way, Phantom should've had it all the way. Phantom's hornline was super hot that year and they had a difficult book. The Devils were tight, but the show didn't do much for me. I'm not a judge though, so oh well. I'm surprised Pahntom actually surged as much as they did that week.

I don't think i've ever bothered to create an account on 'Spot forums I never had any interest in posting there. I mean, i love this place, so why go somewherelse to talk about the same things? (I expect the topics discussed on 'Spot to be quite similar to ours)

But less insane.
Warning: This poster regularly makes unintentionally sexual posts. Or at least "unintentional" is what she claims...

You are now my sworn enemy. ;)

I was at the finals in Florida in 96 and I saw both of those finals performances. Phantom scorched the earth.

The crowd, after the annoucement of 1st and 2nd place, was possibly the loudest crowd in the history of time.
