HTML seizures

Post by Darkazriel »

My cast, gallery and fanart page are having HTML seizures. As far as I can tell the coding is okay... It displays fine in safari, but IE and firefox produce either 1. a text version of the code or 2. a lot of nonsense kanji. Help? :( I managed to get rid of the random kanji, but it's now picking and choosing which bits of code to use and which to ignore.

Messed-up pages:

:o

Very odd.

Can you post copies of the source code here? I can't manage to view it from onsite.

Looks like the code is incomplete, and I'd wager that you might be using a slightly strange font that is being recognized as kanji by the other browsers.

'Course I'm also really tired, so I could be way off. :)

Hmmm.... I'd say it has something to do with the document's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Character_ ... >character encoding</a>. With that in mind, I have a few questions:

What program are you using to write your pages?

<s>What is your Operating System?</s> EDIT: Wait.... you said Safari. So your obviously working on a Mac. Most likely running OS X.

What language is your OS set to?

For a second I thought you meant your readers were getting seizures.

I checked IE (for Windows) as I was anwsering his question. It never had a problem to begin with.

Firefox and Opera still have issues with the pages though.

Yes, but he's on a Mac.

I speak from experience: IE for Mac and IE for Windows really aren't the same browsers. They have different features, different compatibility issues, different etc etc.
