Yep, Thelma's not anxious to get the I-told-you-so's, not a bit. And she seems to like being away from the small town? Interesting... maybe we are going in new directions, here.

Good work Ralph, always keep us comming back.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

"Not interested in "I told you so's?" She's not interested in getting gossiped about and laughed at and humiliated by hateful people!

You don't quite grasp the mentality of the small-town gossip network. It wouldn't be pity or even amused sympathy about a nice girl who got took for a bundle of money; it would be barbed tongues wagging about how "that girl" got what she deserved for being "uppity." Nasty rumors about what she got up to while she was in the big city would be spread...

And that's assuming word of the illicit shoot never got out. Add the words "porn shoot" and all SORTS of poison-tongued innuendo would start flying-- within five iterations of the story she would be "that tramp"
and the porno shoot would have been her idea.

Doesn't always work with the old biddies. One needs ammunition to fire back with to get 'em to shut up, and it's not always easy to find. Our esteemed author is right, and I should've remembered. Any small town and most larger churches -not- in small towns have that same dynamic.

What i'm wondering is how this will effect the relationship of Tuck and Thelma. It's true that her pride was hurt from this, but how she will act toward Tucker seeing that this was in a way his fault is what matters. True every Relationship has it's time on the rocks but this.. this is more like an iceberg heading for the U.S.S Titanic... let's hope thelma is forgiving at least... and i'm wondering what nips seeing in that magazine, hmmm

An excuse to spend more time with Hortense (with Nip yet again showing off his being "the smart one")?

A more serious guess - that Thelma is being credited for having broken up a porn operation by taking out the ringleader? (At least this would allow her to return home as a heroine instead of as a victim.)

BTW - It's nice to see that Hortense does have some decency in her and isn't so rabidly feminist as to not care for what is good for her friends. Her comment in today's strip has redeemed her from her past excesses (or at least partially redeemed her) in my eyes.

The very idea that Marty is a ringleader is just insanely funny. This guy reeks of "greasy henchman" like a dirty pair of underwear reeks of jock itch cream.

If memory serves, "True Crime" is a British magazine, published quarterly, so it's probably a bit soon for Thelma's exploit to have wound up in it. :)

Not really. She was gone at least a week.

I may have to go back and check, but I can think of only 2 folks Nip's had any REAL problem with, Charlie at the stunt college and Gus.....BOTH of whom he's dealt with.....quite effectively.

.....................unless you're thinkin' of "Gary"!!!

Don't know if it's an actual "grudge" per se Nipster has with Gary, bacause he's been nuthin' but nice and complimentary to him and alledgedly has treated Bebe like a goddess. But the fact that Bebe ran off with him instead of hookin' up with Nip can't be sittin' too well.

Now wouldn't that be somethin' if Gary, being the financial whiz-kid he is turned out to be the moneybags and brains behind this whole scam?

That what you're drivin' at?
