Sanity Free

Post by DennisP »

Hi,

I'm new here to the forums and was wondering if anyone would mind giving their feedback on my comic strip Sanity Free. http://comic.sanityfree.com I'm going on my fifth month and I'll say it's a constant learning process. Your thoughts are definately welcome.

Thanks
Dennis

Congratulations on your fifth month! As for my thoughts, I think you have some pretty good writing and nice, clean art. Even uncolored, it's usually easy to see what's going on and who's saying what. Unfortunately, I've no specific advice for you other than to encourage you to keep at it ^^;;.

Hooray! First response!

I'm really digging the character design. They're like aliens, only not.

The only complaint I can make about the art is that when you draw the characters small it's difficult to see their expressions. I suppose that's a side effect of their small eyes and mouths and missing noses. Other than that, the art is good, I like it.

I didn't get a lot of the jokes, and the Everquest jokes were a distinct turn-off for me. (Mine eyes hath seen the evil of Sony/Verant firsthand. ;) ) But that's just personal taste. When you did hit me with a joke, like the April 7th strip, I laughed out loud. :)

In all, a pretty darn good strip, although it may not be aimed at the niche audience I'm in. :)

Thank you guys for your feedback and honesty. I also agree that Sony is definately an evil force and am convinced that there are subliminal messages being shot at me while I play. But its too late for me ... save yourself!!

And I have been trying to work on the expressions. When I first started doing it the lines were so small that when I shrunk it I was missing alot of key elements....like the heads. Like I said its been a learning process.

I liked it. After reading everyone else's posts all I have is that they stand and sit dramatically straight. A comic with one liners wouldn't be bothered by that. Just letting you know though ;)
