Should I start using regular size panels or at least panels that when put together fit into a regular frame? Is it not important or are these layouts off putting?
I think the varied panel layout works well with cringecomics, but not so well with zugtoons. With the former, you've got a set of main characters, which gives the strips a feel of consistency despite the inconsistent layout. Also, the varied layout in cringecomics not only works, it makes each strip that much more artistically interesting.
With zugtoons, the varied layouts combined with oneliners make it seem more like a portfolio rather than a regular comic. Not that this is a bad thing. It depends on whether you want the "feel" of a regular comic strip series, or if you want to exercise your creativity muscles.
As a sidenote, I must comment on your art. I think your style is fantastic and quirky, and somehow you manage to combine all those kooky colors in cringecomics into great art that gels together.
My only criticism is the (literally) floating talking heads. Give them a neck and shoulders. They look creepy without.
They look fine to me. They're clear-cut and easy to understand. You know which dialogue box goes first. That's what bothers me when people have bad layouts. But yours are good and your art is very cute.
I agree with Ryuko - as long as the pages are understandable, I really like irregular layouts, and yours are not the very least confusing. I also like your art, it's got a very distinct look.
