Lux Light

Post by Yuoofox »

In the comic, "Heros of Middlecenter," I saw them use the word Lux. (In this context, it makes sense.)

Intreguing. Maybe anthro's do exist outside the seven vilages 8)
Though considering that Lux lights are very common in rac'cona, and in that book they discribe it as a level two spell for higher magic beeings I think the so called mages would truly be put to shame by the rac'conans ^_^

Lux is simply Latin for light. It turns up as a legitimate parallel in a lot of magic systems. (Latin being de rigeur for wizards, donchaknow.)

So...if a large expensive fancy wagon is powered by Rac Conan magic, that would be a "Luxoliner"?

But, if you took a fancy magic doo-dad, and drained if of power, would it still be de-lux? :-?

And, if you're a frequent-flier aboard the airships, do you earn Lux-Bucks as a bonus incentive?

I highly doubt that Ralph is fluent in any form of Latin(Church or Classical)...
Some people just tend to pick up smatterings of trivia, a few words of Latin (et cetera, exemplum(sp) gratis, that sort of thing) is hardly uncommon to have acquired.
Besides, one can always go and look things up...
I took Latin for a few years in high-school...
Don't remember hardly any of it of course...
But somehow I do suspect (although I have no support) that he might know more measurably more Navaho (sp? If so very sorry

Afraid you'd lose that bet-- I don't know a lick of navajo. Not one blessed word.

I knew a woman called Lux.

She wasn't really all that bright.

There was a young lady named Bright,
Who could travel much faster than light.
She set out one day
In a relative way,
And returned on the previous night.
