Deleting old comics

I'm trying to find a way of removing old comics from the archives. I have tried going into Public_html and deleting the comic under the "comic" dir and also deleting the page html from under the "d" dir, however, the archive still wants to navigate to this non-existant comic, and the calendar still shows it as a number. Is there some way to delete old comics without all this trouble? Thanks.

after you delete those two pages you then have to gointo siteadmin and do a full page update. then everything will work it's self out.
