Once I decided I was tired of reality and drew a whole bunch of semi-exaggerated sketches of a character named Hip Angel. It almost turned into a webcomic--Hip Angel even had a villain, Swing Devil, and was buddies with Death. One of these days I have to scan it. Anyway, I discovered that I really do, in fact, know how to draw cool hands and feet. It was rather liberating.

There are a couple of short story comics I want to do eventually that I've thought of doing in a completely different style...thing is, I'm lazy. I also don't have much technical ability when it comes to art (I can do my own style pretty well, but I think it's mostly down to muscle memory). Honestly can't say how trying out a different style would work for me.

You mean the crappy "look what I threw together in less than a minute" garbage? Why, do I look like I hate my audience?

Is that like some color being "the new black?" 'Cause I always thought those never lasted.

I'll accept something as being the "new black" when Crayola starts relabeling their crayons.

After years of wandering around thinking "meh, I think I want to draw this kind of plot.." I've come to realise that I'm just doomed to get idea after another, and that it's my task as a storyteller to bring all these ideas together into one plot, instead of a bunch of stupid meaningless shorts. =_=..

but what of stories that can't possibly fit into the framework of the world you've already defined?

Not all shorts are stupid and meaningless. Sometimes, a story just isn't destined for epic-length, y'know?

Yeah, that's true. But it is interesting to twist a plot around to include a bunch of sub-stories.

I have a whole bunch of characters hanging around in my head. But they won't be appearing in the current arc. I feel like doing a mini comic to introduce them, but yea, I already got my hands full with the current one.
