I've decided to switch from a tag-board to a blog.... any suggestions on a free one?

Well . . .
In most cases, homemade is free.

Hmm . . .
Maybe the thing at the bottom of http://grimtidings.keenspace.com/ is what you'd like.

I use http://www.blogger.com.
I'm not sure what Keenspace allows anymore, but I have it all conveniently rigged so the blog is hosted on my space rather than theirs, and I can update my index page along with it.

Are you talking about adding a rantbox under your comic??
Then in anycase it's easy. (go to the Ensign's handbook)
Just make a textfile named yearmonthdate.txt.

By the way, google is your friend. Of course I am assuming you understand the basics of html.

Erm, not to rain on your parade or anything, but you could have done that a lot more easily just by inserting a table... I mention this because I've heard that if your keenad malfunctions it'll put the ad into the next available i-frame--i.e., your rantbox. If you use a table, and set it to overflow:scroll (I don't remember the rest of the code, but it should be pretty easy to find; tables are probably the most common part of html out there) you'll get the exact same effect.
Edit: That is to say, you'll get the same effect as an i-frame, only without the malfunctioning keenad bit.
