Does anyone else hear Squidge's voice in their head as a cross between Jar Jar Binks and Gollum?
With a smidgeon of Chamberlain from The Dark Crystal added as well?

Well, let's face it, the "shrimpy, wimpy goblin-like critter in rags" thing pretty much comes with an iconic "high-pitched pitiful growling voice" (occasional hissing optional) that you pretty much expect to hear when you see one in cartoons or movies. Gollum and Dobby are hardly the first ones. One of my favorites was the dwarf ogre from the old Gummy Bears cartoon.
