Hey, do you or anyone else know when the next cookout/get-together is going to be? I'd like to show up next time, if I could drive there. At least there's no $400 ticket price like at Burning Man, neh?

Just so we're clear on things, there's a few basic general rules to follow:

First, polite behavior is mandatory. This is really the only rule, if you think about it. We're here to have a good time and to meet new friends. Jerks are shown the door. Show respect -- especially

Second, no flooding. Flooding is when you flush the conversation out of thread or forum by posting massive amounts of junk. Noone likes it, noone wants it. That includes doing stupid oneliners for replies in intelegent conversations.

Third, no spamming. In this reguard and on KeenSpace's forums, it's posting a message of commercial nature, with *LIMITED* exceptions (including pitching your comic in the apropriate forums and in your signature). Saw something cool? Show us the URL. That's OK. Selling penis pills or organic Vioxx? Expect me to mallet your ISP.

Fourth, Show respect -- especially to the moderators and the admins (me, Kisai, Mercury_Hat). We're doing our jobs (as much as we like doing them and how little we get paid for volunteering). Don't PO us, and we won't PO you.

Fifth, This forum, while off-topic, is not your personal livejournal/blog. While there is no rule regarding how often you can make a new thread, do -NOT- make a new thread for every insignificant event that happens to you, or that you think is cool, that would be spamming. Instead, add updates about a topic to the same thread instead of making new threads for the same topic. Moderators may split threads as required.

Sixth, do have fun. That's what the forums are about.

The rules haven't really changed, this is just to clarify that making 20 new threads a day is really annoying and that would accomplish more (and follow common sense of internet forums) to only post a new thread on an old topic when the old topic falls is over a month old (to prevent zombie threads.) So I'm going to suggest that the moderators split threads when they have switched to an entirely new topic.

Please use some common sense and realize that not everything you post about is headline news. This goes back to Rule #1 of being polite. Let others be the journalists too.
