Hmmm...Ralph?

Post by Archae45 »

Can I make a little suggestion as to Hortense?

How about adding another reptile to the cast?

Maybe a dragon?
(Not a bloody huge one, a medium size, like 6-7 feet tall one.)

Sorry, don't really think one would fit into the NaT universe. But it's up to the big to have the final say.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

I imagine Hortense could find a way to "the big city" somehow, possibly in mid-summer when the urban mammals are all vacationing in the country and trying to stay cool, while the reptiles are just soaking up the heat and loving it. A problem might be her seeing a male of her species for the first time ever, and falling in lust on the spot. She'd better bring her girlfriends along as chaperones!

I can see it now. She falls for the first guy lizard she sees, he turns out to be a big jerk, and her feministic streak gets five times worse. :P

Or she finds a guy like Bo or Tuck, and becomes a reptilian version of Thelma.

Never know...

Only thing still bugging me is that 'only reptile family' remark. What about Gus?

(Well, maybe she doesn't count the old turtle as a family, since it appears to be just him.)

No, she thinks of him as a TURTLE, not a LIZARD. Also, the first thing everyone associates him with is "Old Fart, old as dirt, been there forever, curdmudgeonly eccentric....." So he doesn't exactly come to mind first when one thinks of a "reptile community."

There are species of lizards that live underground most of the time. Maybe Hortense has boys under her feet and doesn't know it.
There's no insanity in my family. *I* have it all!!

Now that is a scary thought, very scary. I think I will go hide now.

As for Hortense being unfeminine, y'know, there are frilled lizards...
Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defence. :shucks:

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

I think that the next arc will feature Hortense and Zelda becoming good friends. Zelda just made the whole party go bust, and her self-esteem isn't that high to begin with, so she'll probably be next in the depressed lane. And of course, Hortense might be the one to snap (slap?) her out of it.

Slapping would hurt Hortense more than Zelda of course...
Also, I think the party will continue, although there may be a bit of a doldrum while they figure out what to do next...
