*pokes Mr. Bob until he updates*

This was a record month for me -- 300 extra visits (over the course of said month), which may not seem too impressive to three-quarters of you forum-goers, but my comic is not exactly a ... um ... reader-magnet.

I finished off the latest storyline, and I also have a buffer -- two comics, the largest I've ever had. ^^

November was awesome because I had a really, REALLY, REALLY good plug from the WoW Europe site. I sent them fanart thinking that if I was lucky they'd publish it in a fan gallery, instead they asked me for a few lines of comment, and the next day there was a little article about the comic on their main page. I had so many hits from it that I'm now breathing on Ghastly's tentacled neck just below him on the guide, at spot #2. Now, I know that the joy won't last, and that lots of those visitors won't be return visitors, but even so - and even when I start sliding down the list towards my former position - I should have kept some new captive audience. I'm really happy about it as you can imagine, it was really like hitting the jackpot without expecting it, and I hope that it will also bring more visits to all the past and present featured comickers of the week (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE).

Another thing that I'm pleased about, is that I managed to weather the release of World of Warcraft, which sucks away my brains and energy because I am totally addicted to it, and still update in time (I did have to spend a whole weekend drawing just before the release date to have a 3 panel buffer, however).

All in all, it's been a great month :)

I dropped a little plug about approaching six months at the start of the month (then realised it was only five and felt silly), and the month was moving ahead well, averaging a small increase in readership by the middle. Then I discovered I'd been linked for an update by Bigger Than Cheeses, a comic I know nothing about, and picked up about 400 uniques from them until they updated again. That made we happy.

So, yeah, I was increasing readership steadily by a little, and that extra spike really threw me into the stratosphere (as far as previous heights). Doubles average daily readers for the month and got a 50% increase in monthly uniques too, but that will probably drop unless someone else wants to plug me without telling me...

Updated on time for the whole month, and am now down to a buffer of one which will go up tonight, so I planned that well, because I managed to write my reports for the kids while the buffer dwindled.

Next month, I'll see what happens and just plod along as I have been...

Oh...and whoever said Onlinecomics was good for a burst...I haven't received a single referral from them...no worries though.

Given that I started in October, I still don't have much to compare November with. My visits per day seems to have gone down from 20 to 12, but as I guess what I would call my "core readership" (i.e. the residents of the Team 17 Forums) only seem to be interested in looking at the site if I keep prodding them with reminders (which kind of removes the point of a fixed schedule, yeah?), it's only really to be expected. I signed up to The Webcomics List and got a reasonable number of hits from them.

I've now built a ridiculously large cushion of comics that sees me up to a third of the way through January. Incidentally, in January I plan to change my update schedule from one eight-panel strip a week to two four-panel strips a week.
Boot Camp - There don't appear to be many Worms webcomics out there...

November didn't start off very well; I didn't manage to update until near the end of the month. But when I did pow I shot up. I'm looking to December to try to continue updating; and fix up more of the site.

My uniques went up, the story's moving at a pace I like now, and I got the bilingual script in place. Kudos all around.

Next month I hope to finish translating the archive, and also hope the readership keeps increasing.

I also hope I finish the bunch of artwork I owe.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

In November, I did slightly less well overall than in October although that may yet change when the final figures for the month came in.
In October, I restored 70 pages worth of comics to the free Keenspace archives, then directed the readers of the El Goonish Shive forum to them (because I had imitated the style of EGS for a flashback, I had something to talk to them about :) ). The interest from those readers turned a middling month into a good one in the last few days.
I expect that the last day of November, not yet reflected in the stats, will also turn out to have been a good one for me, maybe good enough to tip November over into the "good" column as well. In the past few days, I've freed up another dozen episodes, joined thewebcomicslist.com and run a paid advertisement on Clan of the Cats, which I blew $ 200 on. The paid ad is working (and will continue to run until December 19 to get people into the habit of reading Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan), but I was surprised by the response from Thewebcomicslist. On the 29th, that brought in a lot of people. It's settling down now, but I think I'll be getting some more referrals from them. Front page visits are up about 25% overall, more than that in comparison with the week Thanksgiving weekend.
Expectations for December: I will probably lose the momentum and miss a few updates. The reason is that I'm too sick to write and draw right now, and as soon as I'm better, I will have to drop work on ROCR and get caught up with my work for print, because I'll miss my deadline otherwise. I'll have some guest comics lined up for that week, but it's a bit of a waste of that effort spent to get new people into my comics.
Oh well, I may save the day yet. Friday's comic is done, at least.

Well. We've gotten a lot of readers coming back, averaging hits in the thousands which is something that is a big improvement from our very first month. The art continues to show improvement and we have recieved some reader response. Not as good with visits this month like October, but hey! W're still here and hanging on. 8)

For next month I get my new computer (Oooh next week!) and we will be improving with better imaging and new fonts. It should raise the bar and make filing far more easier. Maybe you might even see a IftP flash movie in the near future.

Mohawk? Still on hiatus, booo.

He's figment of imagination, that's why he can't reach him.

November: Nothing special. I did became a son of city mayor, but that wasn't really my success. It was a nice thing to live to see, however.
I did some pretty satisfying work on LWK (I'm not doing mcDuffies lately because I have big buffer). I started one longer one-shot story that already spans for over 20 pages and will grow larger. I don't know what to do with it or how it will look at the end, since it's still in form of skeleton.
Worked on a new issue of college magazine.

December: continuing mentioned comic projects.
Stop skipping writing articles.
Passing a few exams at the very beginning of December, I already know them pretty well so I look forward to good grade.
Get a new computer.
Celebrate new year.

I updated and didn't lose much of my buffer over Thanksgiving. That counts as good in my book. As to stats I'm trending slightly downwards, but when you have less than 50 hits a day the smallest drop looks big.

Your extra visits this month are more than two and a half times how many I get as a main staple.

What I was most pleased about in November is that I got married, went away for a two week hiatus, and the day I returned to the strip I had the highest one-day unique visitor number I've ever gotten.

My fan total may only be around 100 people, but they are loyal fans.

I did better in Novemeber stats wise than I have in the entire year. Granted, I was on hiatus until a few months ago, but dayam, keenspot newsbox for Vigilante Ho does amazing things.

November I read the best new comics ever, though. There's a lot more good amatuer stuff going on now than there was last time I actively sought out new comics. I'm seeing stuff that makes me think these people are really going to have something excellent in a year if they keep it up. WTG keenspace! (But don't go tooooo much, because I can't have ALL of you being better than me. My ego won't take it. But some of you is okay.)

In Decemeber I finally end my longest running webcomic, Eat the Roses. I started it over 4 years ago and now I'll finally be done. It's been extremely educational and I can't imagine where I'd be without having done it, but it's going to be nice to have it finished, so I can put it aside. The bad art and bad writing early on is really heavy baggage to keep carrying around with me.

Quick update: the first 9 hours of December, currently showing on my stats (I'm sick at home with nothing better to do), are just amazing! Over 800 pageviews during those 9 hours, with the recently restored archive pages prominent among the most-requested URLs. That's the sort of numbers I used to get when I still had 500+ installments on the free site! It's really motivating me to a) get better and b) promote some more. There is a lot of stuff on the site and I can get people to look at it!

:'D I don't think I'll be drawing anything for a while.
XD dang, it's been almost 3 months since the last time I updated on a regular basis. Or did update on a regular basis for about one week, after not updating for a few months.

November, I came back from my hiatus (which is always exciting). I also updated on time for the rest of the month, and got back a bit of my buffer (why did that sound dirty?)

December is looking promising... for one thing, it is my birthday in two days. But comic-wise, a storyline started today that is very near and dear to my heart. I am not sure if I will do a Christmas storyline yet... I should probably decide soon
