What do you do?
Hey I was just wondering what other people do when someone trashes your site. Especially when that persons site isn't that good either. I'll admit that this thread won't go far, but I needed to vent somewhere and at least here some people might know what I'm talking about.

It's actually what's nice in this world, you can bash whoever you want.
But seriously, first off, I received a number of bad comments on many sides, and I can't tell that it didn't sting each and every time, even when I was 100% percent sure that they were wrong, I think one can't never really get used to it. But it's a part of life: Accept it and try to use it to better yourself.
Other thing is, accept bad comment with dignity. Don't try to disaproove him, don't get into fight, don't try to bash his site in return. It's actually receiving the critique with your head up that counts.
It's not particulary important that his site isn't good. He's still entitled to his opinion, and even more so, if he can't make a good one, it still doesn't mean that he can't reckognize one.

Oh! Oh! I totally had this happen a few months ago.
Here's what not to do. I think that was very immature of me. Rather than immortalizing the comments in my journal, and pissing off about them - I could've *gasp* ignored them, or acknowledged them in the tagboard, and the tagboard alone.
Don't blow up too much about it if some rude person decides to make nasty comments about your page. It's still rude for them to do that even if their intention is to be helpful, but just accept it with good grace and move on.

Are you talking about me? Anyway, if someone were to trash my site, I would trash their site if I felt it was not any better.
(If you are talking about me, that's an invitation to trash my site if you feel it is bad).

I eat a pint of double chocolate ice cream and cry myself to sleep that night. Sometimes I wake up the next morning and stare in through my neighbors' windows until they call the cops. If they don't catch me, I tend to drink myself into a stupor for the next couple of weeks. Then I go back to doing my comic and the whole process starts all over again.

Exact fast and brutal revenge against them.Freddyderanged wrote:Hey I was just wondering what other people do when someone trashes your site. Especially when that persons site isn't that good either. Or better yet, just make nice with them. You'd be surprised how well being nice works. It's a lot better than having a huge and pointless flamewar.

Your right. That is why I didn't name names or try to start a flaming thread. He is entitled to his opinion.mcDuffies wrote:It's actually what's nice in this world, you can bash whoever you want.![]()

Lol, everyone that thinks it was them, don't worry. I'm not angry at any particular person. In fact I try to use constructive critisism as best I can. Just wondering what other people do to get past it. I liked the chocolate idea, maybe I'll go find some Hagen Daus. MMMMMMMMMM double chocolate fudge.

If you really didn't want us to know what you just said, you would have made it a little more encrypted...TheLoserHero wrote:Every time I get trashed, I reflect on what they're saying. Yeah, sometimes it's immature, but there's usually a bit of truth to it.

After that, try calling up some old girlfriends and yell "WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST LOVE ME ENOUGH?!" and hang up about a dozen times. Or, if you don't have any old girlfriends (or other signifigant other), just call up random strangers and do the same.Freddyderanged wrote:I liked the chocolate idea, maybe I'll go find some Hagen Daus. Works wonders.
