Heh, just checked to see which you were talking about. That should make things . . . interesting where inter-PC politics are concerned, I'm sure.DarkMagician wrote:I'm actually using a goddess from that excerpt. Guess which one (not very much of a guess, considering there's only one that fits both statements).
Yah, there's that, and there's some other small things (like having a speed of 30 ft. and having both low-light and darkvision) that might add up to something larger. Hopefully they won't, however, and the very fact that you're addressing these things yourself tells me that you'll probably know to reign your character in on your own when necessary. My thoughts on the whisper gnome is that the Hide and Move Silently modifiers might become nasty (Hide gets +4 racial, +4 size, and +1 from +2 dex, which means it already starts at +9 from the begining character).
The way I have my players roll stats is a bit unusual, so we'll be doing it in IRC under my supervision. I'll tell you now that all of your stats may seem a bit high, but I run my games rather challenging so it all evens out. I tend to think of PCs as being like the superheroes of their world, epic warriors that are a good bit stronger, smarter, and faster than everyone else and all that jazz.Any house rules? Will you be using point-buy, roll at the chat, or roll and honor system?
As for house rules . . . as I stated earlier in the thread, I play rather fast and loose with the rules in general, often fudging around with modifiers and making snap estimations when necessary so things don't get too bogged down. If things are going a bit slow already, for example, I might just treat a mounted charge as a regular attack so we can just get through it and move on to the next round. However, if I do something like this and you'd rather use the actual rules in a specific circumstance, just tell me and I'll most often agree to do so as long as it doesn't bother the other players.
However, in these cases, I do expect the requesting player to help me out with the action resolution, especially if they plan to do something like - using the example above - make mounted charges for the next several rounds. Mostly this just means you need to keep your modifiers in mind and be ready to give them to me as soon as I ask for 'em so I don't have to keep writing things down or scrolling back up in the IRC log or re-doing the calculations in my head every time it comes to your turn or whatever.
Other than that, I'm open to anyone elses' suggestions for house rules. That isn't to say that I'll just allow 'em, of course, but I'll certainly listen to 'em.
