Still having problems (can't connect?)
When I tried updating my comic this week it wouldn't let me log onto my server. I can log into my members page and all that, but I can't get onto
ftp://orangepenguins.keenspace.com
Now, when I was having this problem a year or so ago, I believe I simply solved it by requesting a new password (I was so happy when we could write our own instead of getting a randomly generated one to memorize every time). However, there are two problems. One, a minor problem, I can't find the password change request area.
The other, a major problem, is that the email the password confirmation will be sent to no longer exists, and I had my site before the big hard drive crash, and was told that this erased the personal data they needed to change my email.
So, I think I'm in a bit of a bind here. Can I get a new password without the confirmation email? Can this be solved by adding a new author (Essentially a round-about way of changing the email address in this case)?
And if it turns out I need to just make another site then how would I let my readers know?
I guess, after reading around the help forums a bit, that many people are having problems with their FTPs because of the keenspace server, but all of this could still be an issue in the future...

Okay, I found the change password thing on the login page, but the other problems mentioned still stand, I can't get it activated.
Oh, and now instead of rejecting my login it sends me straight to an error message saying that it can't connect to the server.

An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder.
Details:
200 Type set to A
200 PORT command successful
425 Unable to build data connection: Connection refused

Few days back I faced the same kind of problem and got to know a very helpful site from which you can download software, which will help you to recall any forgotten passwords in an instant. The site is http://www.seepasswords.com. See if it resolves your problem.
Regards,
Sarah
Gee. Could someone delete that spam or maybe even scam? The sooner the better.
You are the Non. You must go now, and never return."
"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

i apologize
If you think helping someone or sharing something with other members of forum is a spam then I must apologize for doing something like this. I just came across this software and it really resolved my problem and so I thought I must share this software with everyone. I never thought I
I'm sorry, but it looked like a quite standard spam, because you said:
So you couldn't have had the same problem.
And how on earth could that software help us when the server's password database gets damaged???
AND your post relies on "Social Proof"- a standard marketing trick, spam sense tingling!
As a result your message looks to me like someone did a search for people talking about password problems, and posted the standard "I've had the same problem, but **** helped. See if it helps you."
So the post is either: a standard spam OR a case of someone not reading close, and posting something irrevelant to the discussion.
Either way, nothing really good.
If you really wanted to help, your effort is appreciated, I guess. Too bad your help had nothing to do with the subject. Better luck next time.
whereas the problem in question had NOTHING to do with "forgotten passwords". Noone here forgot any passwords (see the first post, they CAN log in into siteadmin, so they DO remember the password):sarah64 wrote: Few days back I faced the same kind of problem [...]software, which will help you to recall any forgotten passwords in an instant.
