Ah. The inspiration for the Night Crawler series. Ok. If you dig that old stuff when Illyana was both alive and a teenager, you'll get a kick out of that series... even if she really doesn't do much beside wear a Michael Jackson t-shirt.

I miss Illyana as both alive and a Teenager. Its because of her that I own every new Mutants issue ever made.

Ugh! Even the crappy Liefield ones? Well, at least they had old X-Factor dropping by every now and then towards the end. I'm trying to find all the parts to the Inferno crossover.

Yes, even the Liefield ones. ~shudder~ Is it just me or did everything go downhill with the introduction of Cable?

The few ones done by Art Adams left a big impression on me. He did one of the best covers of a comic I've seen. The stuff done by Bill Sienkiewicz took a lot of getting used to. I only really appreciated them after he stopped doing the comic.

Its a shame the comic was discontinued in favor of X-Force which was craptacular from what I could tell. Shatterstar, Cable, and Domino. Bleh. It ruined the "kids just trying to get by at Xavier's" feel. What happened to the team that went on a rescue mission by bus because no one had a car or access to the X-Men's jet?

I liked them because they were more human and while they were powerful and could make a good team, the comic focused on their interpersonal relationships.

I could go on and on about them. I've just about memorized the whole thing...

To me Bill Sienkiewicz was the New Mutants. I just loved what he did with that comic, very dark, twisted, angsty. Perfect for a teen comic. His Warlock was still the best. The comic was just never the same after he left.

/me sighs...

I never got into marvel too deep. Growing up, my cousin Tim had piles and piles of random comics, so I got into indi press early.

Thao I did like the micronauts.

That is how I feel now, but when he was at the helm... well, I couldn't wrap my preteen mind around it until after he stopped.

I got into new mutants retroactively. God bless bargain bin back issues. I'll admit that I was on the bandwagon buying up X-Force because that's what everyone was into, but then I tried to going back and discovered things got better and better as I went further back.

I'm also fond of Brett Blevins and got a kick out of seeing some of his issues, though it's some of the caartooniest stuff I've ever seen him do.

Art Adams just fucking rocks.

Sienkiewicz is someone I've just loved since the first pinup I've seen by him. I just wish I knew how to pronounce that name.
