Ok, why couldn't humans have evolved from that race.
I mean, who cares if we would have ended up with tails or something a clit that big is gotta be a plus during sex!
Mind you, the orgasm caused by using it like a penis.....

Tails? Since when do Bonobos have tails? They are only one of two spieces that humans are closely related too. The Chimpansy and Bonobo Humans evolved from the chimpansy but chimps share a comon ansestry with bonobos. The differances between Chimps and Bonobo are obious...
Chimps have a male dominated sociaty with rape, murder, fighting, betrail, and other discusting thingys. While bonobos have a female domanated sociaty with careing, family bonds, and lesbian sex. It is any wonder human evolved from chimps and not bonobos, kind of unfortunate yes but no surprize.
Read what ever you will from all that but yah, too many Discovery Channel Specials for me I think.

Bonobos are chimpanzees. There are two species of chimpanzee. There is Pan paniscus, which are called the Bonobos chimpanzee, and there is Pan troglodyte which are called the Common chimpanzee.
Humans did not evolve from either species. Instead, all three species diverged from a common ancestor, shivapithicus, millions of years ago. One line went on to eventually form Pan paniscus, another went on to form Pan troglodyte, and another went on to form Homo sapiens.
/anthropology major.

Good God!
I know nothing about ape-kind or money-kind.
I know there's an Ape and a Monkey. Don't ask me anything else about them because I've never seen either outside of telivision!
I Live in a country town. We have no zoos.
I haven't been to a zoo in ages, and it was only a small one in the city.
And I'm not as old as you lot seam to be so if this kind of stuff is common knowledge then I haven't learnt it yet!

It would be impossible for humans and chimps to breed with biological success (as in producing reproductive offspring) because they are seperate species. Any creature created from such a union would be sterile.
It's unlikely that such a creature could be created as humans have fewer chromosome pairs than chimpanzees. In the early 1900s there was a sideshow "freak" who was claimed to have been a human/chimpanzee cross breed. In all likelyhood the unfortunate individual was likely just a malformed human who was mentally retarded.
The tinfoil hat brigade provided us with many rumours of secret Soviet experiments in crossbreeding humans with chimpanzees to provide an army of super soldiers.
Those were like just anti-commie rumours born from coldwar hysteria.

Unlikely but not impossible. Horses and donkeys have different numbers of chromosomes. Mules are almost always - but not always - sterile. Crosses between apes more distantly related than humans and chimps have been recorded.Ghastly wrote:It would be impossible for humans and chimps to breed with biological success (as in producing reproductive offspring) because they are seperate species. There was a pair of news stories about ten years back of a very odd-looking chimp. Teeth were small. Head was larger and more upright. Posture and limb length weren't quite right for a chimp. Maybe it was just a really ugly chimpanzee, but it was disturbing enough that he got genotyped. And after that the stories stopped. No "he was just a chimp" or "he was, well, urr, yes, how 'bout them Lakers" or "it turned out to be a hoax". I was always curious. And I'd be willing to bet lots of money that if he were a cross it was daddy who was a human....
"It is the difference between the unknown and the unknowable, between science and fantasy - it is a matter of essence. The four points of the compass be logic, knowledge, wisdom and the unknown. Some do bow in that final direction. Others advance upon it. To bow before the one is to lose sight of the three. I may submit to the unknown, but never to the unknowable. The man who bows in that final direction is either a saint or a fool. I have no use for either."

Oh, and thank you, Ghastly, for the chimp and bonobo clarification post... I had my keyboard all set for Educational Rant of Gentle Retribution mode.
Akane: Believing in evolution is only half the battle... Understanding it is the other half. More Discovery Science Channel documentaries for you. Take notes this time... There will be a test. *wink*
By way of announcing to the world that I'm an idiot... I had to edit this post about two hundred seventy times before I got frustrated enough to look up and try the "img" button.... *sighs*

I watched this program on Channel 5 a while ago, about some animal which they thought was very likely to be half human, half chimpanzee.
It walked upright ALL of the time, where as chimpanzee's can only walk upright for about 30 minutes before they get tired. It had an odd looking face which apparently looked more human, but I didn't think it did. It was owned by this couple, and when the man died, the woman found the "humanzee" was sexually interested in her, and she had to give it away when it tried to rape her (I think...). Anyway, this "Humanzee became quite a celbrity in Japan of all places, it appeared on talk shows and stuff. It was on one show with the band "The Monkies" (to put it into soem kind of time context). One Japanese actress volunteered to let it have sex with her to find out it it was sterile, and therefore a human-chimp hybrid, but the owner didn't allow it.
They didn't have very good technology then, and they did some tests to count the number of chromosones it had, the test was inconclusive because it kept giving different results. It was located a few years ago however, and they did the test again, and found that it was actually just a chimp.
Think this story was pointless? well you didn't waste an hour of your life watching it on TV.
There are some interesting cross breeds of animals, for example, a lion can mate with a tiger (I forget if it has to be male tiger with a female lion or vice versa) for male a "Liger" which is fucking massive, because the gene in lions and tigers that controls size is found in X chromosones in one of them, and Y in the other (or something like that) so if you get the right combination, you get a GIANT cat).

A bit off-topic, but I used to have a Golden Retriever who loved to watch porn. Honest to God, she loved it and would sit there mesmerised watching the whole tape. I don't think it was a turn-on for her so much as she liked the motion and the noises (she also was big into nature documenteries about horses).
I discovered this totally by accident. I taped an episode of "Mystery Science Theater" over an old porno, and when 'MST' ran out -- "Ungh, ungh, ungh, UUUUNGH!!" -- Amber's ears perked right up. She particularly liked 70's era stuff. Might have been the funky "Wakka-chu-wakka" guitar on the soundtrack.
I let her watch as long as she wanted, but this had a drawback in that whenever my girlfriend and I got intimate she thought it was playtime, and would start whimpering if we shut her out of the bedroom.
