Biggest Webcomic Plug I Can Come Up With
Newgrounds.com
I've been a member of that site for quite some time now (4 years) and I'm a moderately successful Flash artist there as well, appearing on the Frontpage of the site as featured Flash, as well as briefly on the site's Top 50 Flash Films of all Time.
Then it dawned on me while I was tinkering in Flash - what about a flash film dedicated to webcomic artists? Like a huge ass plug for Keenspacers and Keenspotters?
I mean, Newgrounds gets literally tens of thousands of hits daily, so putting up one big plug Flash would be a great way to pull attention to this place.
The basic gist is that of the popular "rant-toon", like "You Are a Fucking Moron" from zipperfish.com or "Neuroticly Yours" from illwillpress.com, but instead I stand there talking about how great webcomics are in a comedic tone, and finally end it with "Have you hugged your webcomic artist today?"
I'll calling it "Tribute to Webcomics"

Well, I kinda like illwillpress.com... and so I think such an idea could definitely reach out to people who usually wouldn't read webcomics. Let us know about your progress!
Yay. | Yay Part II.

I loved your film.RPin wrote:Yeah, I was trying to get some of the people that don't read webcomics for myself too. Too bad it didn't work.
There was only 2 problems.
1- Newgrounds is full of kids who wanna see cuss words, boobies and violence
2- The song itself was a little too slow. I would have preferred to see something more intense and upbeat.
There is no bad time to promote me, I mean webcomics. GO FOR IT!
(P.S. For those of us not "in the know", could you provide a link to some of your Flash work on Newgrounds? I'd kind of like to see it)

I put a video of myself messing with a rubik's cube up there the other day for no good reason. It didn't do very well, but then I wasn't expecting it to. The only webcomicy stuff I have to show off is this old thing, which I'm going to submit as soon as I get the time to actually attempt to finish it. Ho hum.

Ah, surprise :pRPin wrote:The idea is grand. Which webcomics are you going to present? Only Keen ones or the others too?
This film got me Frontpage and was on the Top 50 for a while. I made it last August.

Heres a philosophical question, if a strawberry eats a pie containing some other kind of fruit is it cannabilism, or would it just be sick and wrong?Van Douchebag wrote:
