Good evening.
Well, it looks like all the other options were discarded and they decided to ignore any attacks on their testimony. Not good.
Conservative as she is, I doubt this will end well. Be prepared for a backlash at work the next day....

I'm thinkin' they'll do alright... can one purify gold without putting it through the fire?
I'm thinking that as risky (and risque) as this is, they'll get through it. It's something called "will power", which is very rare these days. If you have some, great; use it as often as you can in times of temptation. If not, you really oughta work on that before you get a disease or something.
What? Whaddya mean liberalism isn't a disease? They seem pretty messed up in the head to me!
=P Oh well... things'll turn out fine, I'm sure. It might be risky, but I'm sure they can handle it. Besides, the two of them might be able to handle any intruder that comes in the house. And then there's the posse...
Yep. They're quite safe. Just have a little faith, m'kay?

I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

Still, it's less important what others think of them than what they think of themselves. Given a little time their detractors will realize nothing happened.

I'm sure Lily knew exactly what his first thought would be when she said that. She and Ben may be saving themselves for marriage, but she's not waiting until then to think about it.TGIF wrote:I must say that Ben isn't the only one who freaked at her "I'm not wearing a nightie" - when I read that my jaw hit the floor!

cute?
On a side note: Am I the only one that finds the image of a Cougar wearing Bunny slippers a little... Well disturbing???
Yes, but will Velvet find them 'cute' ?Good point - but hey, we humans are predators too, and some of us find bunny slippers cute...
On a side note: the situation between Ben and Lily kind of reminds me of an episode of Babylon-5, where the alien ambassador D
You can fool some of the people all of the time
And all of the people some of the time
But you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Uhm... Maybe I'm missing something here. I don't exactly follow the Christian faith, but what's wrong with sleeping together? I mean actually sleeping together, not sex. If the two characters have had the willpower to avoid it this long, then I'm rather sure they won't now. Besides, I doubt the author would kill the message here, whether I agree with it or not.

Well, extramarital sex is against Christian principles, but the bit about simply sleeping together is more of a culture issue. Most American households own enough beds that every adult has their own (in their own bedroom) so an unmarried couple choosing to share a bed is pretty much a declaration of intent to "make whoopie" except in case of emergency. What soap-opera hasn't done the "unmarried couple stuck in a mountain cabin" story?Calon wrote:Uhm... Maybe I'm missing something here. Eh. Just because you share the same bed, doesn't mean you have to have sex. My girlfriend and I sleep together all the time, and... while we have no qualms about premarital sex, we more often than not just end up asleep. Sans the sex.
In any case, I'm rather positive they won't hook up, even if they end up in the same bed. The author wouldn't do it, and the posse (probably Velvet) could always burst in and shatter the moment if necessary.

The point is a lot of people (many of them very vocal) don't think that way. They tend to assume "if you have the opportunity, you will". Mostly because they would.Calon wrote:Eh. Just because you share the same bed, doesn't mean you have to have sex.
As said before, it's not really a question of what Ben and Lily think or do, but what others think of them. But for now Lily's safety and peace of mind is more important to Ben than anything else. To me it's a good sign of the feelings they have for each other.

Re: cute?
True story - my daughter has a pet rabbit. Last Christmas she received a pair of bunny slippers. Just for grins, we set them on the floor, then got Bunny out of his cage to see how he would react.squirrelly61104 wrote:On a side note: Am I the only one that finds the image of a Cougar wearing Bunny slippers a little... He attacked the slippers!
Since then he seems to have learned that they're not real. He's been around them several more times and now he just ignores them.

I'm letting you make the obvious guess as to what that food is made of.
