So what about YDK?

Post by SailorPtah »

I know Boardy's dead and Butch is just coming up, but what's going on with YDK?

I can't connect to my account (hellsing.keenspace.com) through FTP - "no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." Tried, on a whim, to connect to Butch, but it won't let me in either. I can't connect through siteadmin2 - I get a 403 (Forbidden) error, then forwarded to a generic search page.

So, ah, status report on YDK, anyone? ...please? :(

You now have to ftp to butch.keenspot.com although I don't think its up right now. I think we are waiting for the DNS to propogate or someting.

I'm not sure what's to become of YDK, but all the comics are being moved over to butch.keenspace.com.

Like brockway said, we're 'waiting for the DNS to propogate'. Until then, the comics aren't updating.

Something must have started updating. I just looked at my webpage, and the strip hadn't changed, but the text that is included with my ***include filename*** tag finally updated. It hadn't done that a few hours ago.

"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves,levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

...But where am I?

According to the list on the "Oops" page, my DNS has propagated, but I still have the same comic up from Friday. Is Autoupdate just hating me or should I hope and pray to the gods of Keenspace that it kicks in tonight?

You might notice that you can now get in to the manual update. I can't on the other hand, access my logs. Perhaps they've been moved or destroyed.

I also did phbites.comicgenesis.com and hntrac.comicgenesis.com way back when.

i was wondering about that... i noticed that Siteadmin is back up, but the logs aren't found... on the Keenspace index page, it said that logs were part of the "casualties" so i assume it's been lost. ^^;

Yah...I lacked the foresight to actually mark in any fashion the login for YDK's Siteadmin.... Obviously, I was never a boy scout...

So everyone on the YDK dropdown is just going to be part of a vague in joke from now on, right? I knew I should have got into that when I had the chance. 8)

Hey, things are all working! I can FTP, auto- and manual-updating are both working! Frabjulous day! To Kiasi and anyone else who tackled this behemouth of a problem--a huge thanks for getting it taken care of as quickly as possible! We may bitch and moan while it's down, but we really do appreciate the hard work you put into it.
