Could someone help me out?
Uhm...yeah. See, when I signed up here, I had to change my passwoird and everything to get in, but now that I can log in, I can't add other authors, I can't upload anything, and I can't even get to the workspace thing for my account. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong?

I think so, but I don't know how to do it.
Read the first post in this thread:

It should explain everything you need to know, plus it provides links to FTP programs. I use Leech FTP myself, it's pretty much just like Windows Explorer.
But yeah, I suggest you read the tutorial before starting out. It explains pretty much everything on how to get started.

Yep. Just put in ftp://sitename.keenspace.com.

It sounds almost like you're making it overly complicated... My author and I just share the username and password for ftp. The only place where not being able to add an author has hurt us is that his name won't show up in the guide; beyond that I just manually put his name on all the page templates. If your staffers are other people working on the comic with you, why not just give them the password?

That's what I was planning on. We all update different series, though. The main reason I want the add an author thing to work is so that everyone's names'll be in the guide, and they'll all have their own avatar and the like.moonshadow wrote:It sounds almost like you're making it overly complicated... Well, either way, I got the page working the way I want it, if anyone wants to take a look at it, it's at http://crudedudes.keenspace.com
Oh, yes, I nearly forgot. One of my staffers was trying to upload his comics and stuff at the same time I was, and he was wondering if there was some reason his computer wasn't letting him on, like maybe the FTP can't be used from two different places at once, or something like that...

You need an ad banner and a link to the http://www.keenspace.com somewhere. The ad must be visible on a 640x480 screen without scrolling. The link can be anywhere. These aren't optional. This applies to ALL pages, not just comic pages.
Also, I'm getting "Image hosted on Tripod" in your characters page and others. Tripod doesn't allow hotlinking anymore than Keenspace so you'll have to copy the tripod images to keenspace before they actually work.

I dunno. Your site seems a bit complicated simply for a comic. It looks almost like your trying to create your own 'everything I do' website over a comic site. Keenspace is mostly for hosting comics as the main purpose, with possibly an art gallery and other personal things on side pages. What you seem to be trying to create is a full blown website using a bunch of different services. I personally think it just makes the site complicated and a bit frustrating to navigate. By the way. Keenspace provides you with all the space you need to set up a site. Why are you using Tripod to host off-site things? It's not neccisary, and it doesn't work.

Tripod was my old server. I'm still getting a few things moved over from there. And all I do at my site is comic-related...KittyKatBlack wrote:I dunno. Comic related or not, do keep in mind that the main reason people go to webcomic sites is to read webcomics, and nothing else.
Here's some interesting data from my webalizer logs:
Of all my visitors,
0.46% visit /workshop/ (My Tutorials Page)
0.16% visit /gallery/ (My Art Page)
0.13% visit /controlRoom/ (My Link Page)
0.08% visit /livingQuarters/ (My Cast Page)
The other 99% come from the comic and archive pages.
Following this logic, should 99% of your effort be geared towards your comic?
