Rants on each page

Post by Kousu »

Claytonian of http://surrealu.keenspace.com/ has a problem (he's not posting here because he forgets his password and claims he can't get another account--mmeh). He wants to do little news ranty things on each induvidual archive page but he doesn't know how.

I remember seeing something about naming a .txt the same way the comic file would be named and putting it in some directory somewhere and it would be auto-included. Can anyone point Clay to some docs about that?
Idiom Syndrome <- It's fun for the whole family, assuming your family is a bunch of raving hyenas who are bent on world domination and fine wine.

That is in the FAQ thread in this forum. As near as I can tell, anything named as a date and stuck in the comic folder will be updated like a comic.

Let's say I have a comic for Jan 1, 2004, and I want some text to display below it.

The comic filename = SMDE_20040101.jpg

The text name = text_20040101.txt

(any name is fine, just make sure the text comes later in alphabetical order than the comic if you want it below it, lower case is after upper case, as in a is after Z.)

Contents of the Text:

Code: Select all

<Center>
<Center>
<table border=0>
<tr>
<td>
<font size=2 face=arial color=000000><center>
2004
