The last time I asked for criticism of my comic, the main complaint was that I had a brick background, but the comic is set in space. Well, I did something about that, but only kinda. :)

Take a look and see what you guys think.

Yes!

I was actually pretty concerned that you wouldn't even be able to tell what they were supposed to be. :D

The best part is, this will actually tie into the storyline in a few months.

Apparently I can't tell the difference between real bricks and holodeck bricks, because your background looks like normal bricks to me. I suppose an actually space background with little stars is much too cliche?

Why not shift up your news and calender to the side of the comic, beneath your forum and links buttons. It'll make your layout more compact and avoid unnecessary scrolling. You'll have to make the forum and links buttons smaller, so they take a little less room, but I think if you fill in that space beside the comic, your layout would look less empty.

Scroll down to the bottom. :)

I've thought about putting the news box on the sidebar. My biggest problem with that is that the lines would only be wide enough for 4 words at a time. Scrolling down one time seems less annoying that super narrow lines.

As for the calendar, I wanted to keep that with the nav buttons and the story dropdown. I like having all the navigation stuff close together.

Rather than a vertical transition from bricks to computer graphics grid, how about a horizontal one, where there are bricks on the left, a small strip of grid, and then white background under the comic?

Yeah. I thought about that. I couldn't figure out how to make it work with my tables. Now that I've done it once, I think I could pull it off. Maybe I'll try that again. It would actually be easier than the vertical, what with only changing one background instead of three.
